Thank you for posting this, I first replaced the resistor and that didn't help. The A/C only worked on low. I've since learned that if the resistor is bad, it only works on high, if it works at all. Found the switch from Autozone online for $45, which is about half of all other online sellers I could find. I was careful with the ribbon connector, thanks for the warning. Had to pull up firmly to un-attach, and getting it back in was a little difficult, but kept firm pressure on it and made sure it was even. Reinstalled and tested prior to securing the last six bolts. chock the wheels since you have to move the shifter back and take a picture of the uninstalled unit to reference how the radio brackets re-attach
Great video and thanks for posting. Years ago I took this same thing apart to work on the temperature selector which has a known problem with a 3 wire ribbon cable that separates from the switch. You can desolder and solder it and it will work well. Dorman also sells a kit which I think is now close to $200 if you want to avoid soldering. Now, I’m having same issue you were. When separating the parts after removing the screws there’s another ribbon cable that’s connected. You need to pull up on black holder to release the cable. After installing push the black piece back down to lock the cable in. 7 things to reconnect….3 wiring harness plugs for radio, 3 wiring harness plugs for climate control and the radio antenna. Thanks for the vid. Took the center adjuster off and tighten the metal nut on the post behind it. I finally have AC again
