Mount Isa Ambulance - Rare 3-Door Holden Panel Van

This ultra-rare Mount Isa Ambulance, adapted from a Holden HX/HZ and having an extra door installed behind the driver to allow a paramedic to sit with the patient, came to the Trafalgar Holden Museum missing everything forward of the firewall. An 85YO enthusiast set about re-building the car, taking a HQ donor front end, but then adapting that with the HX/HZ nose cone for authenticity to the original. There is not much room back there for patient and paramedic, but even though cramped, being able to receive medical attention en-route to the hospital may have made the difference between life and death. Neil Joiner takes us over the history of this very unique vehicle.
