Just in case anyone is curious years later, it's not in the plains. It's in the storm coast. You have to challenge the leader of a keep by crafting a special necklace in your requisition table and then challenge him instead of killing everyone there. After that the power for a price quest will come up in the war table.

had a bug where I couldn't craft the necklace, so was just killing everyone
December 2020: this glitch is patched, however the duplication glitch still works. You can make infinite gold and purchase all of these documents, which should be more than enough influence and power. Buying 20 of the most expensive ones (130,000 gold) sent my influence from 11 to 15 and power at 110.
Duplication glitch: (Skyhold-Undercoft)
Put the most expensive equipment in storage. From the storage screen withdraw and back out at the same time (X+O for PlayStation)
Going back into storage, you should see the item still there, but have a duplicate in the inventory. Repeat until you can’t hold anymore and sell them all.
If done incorrectly, the item will be taken out of storage and placed in your inventory again, just toss it back in storage and repeat. I hope this helps.

An FYI, the books don't get lost unless you have bought all of the books. If you buy say five and then sell those five and leave the menu, there will still be ten books when you go back.

I dont prefer to use glitches but it keeps games you like alive when you get bored of them 😊

I have tried to do this but it doesn't help much and no matter what I do I cant get the gd daft hands perk even tho I did te quest and had 4 points but still couldn't do it ready to give up !!!
It could be because you already have 20 perks? Once you have 20, you can't get any more.

@@xionili6005 - No, it doesn't. You can still buy the books but the free exploit was patched years ago. I suspect that jakob misunderstood what the exploit actually was and believes that simply buying the books was the exploit... Either that, or he's trolling. :)

naah this is OK I finded way to kill dragon when I was lvl 4 :D duped my self dragon stuff and rekt everthing ( I turned my dificulty on nightmare in order to rekt everything :D )

I know it's an old post but... that wouldn't be anywhere near enough to buy all of them. Luckily you don't need to. Once you reach Influence level 20, it's pretty pointless. :)
