34:00 as a senior dev that actually do that, I can actually answer with good reasons, we usually have an installer that can run on anything, handshake with our servers, and then download and install the needed stuff only (depending on the os version, vc redists versions, in some case, driver versions for db access for exemple). sure we could put everything in a single massive package. But this has a few benefits, lower load on our servers, better UX (overall download+install is faster, even though it's 2 steps, because you have less stuff to download, and the ability to install different versions of a module depending on the user)

    • @braapybobby
      @braapybobby 11 месяцев назад

That's what I was thinking. Like most CAD software, you download the installer, then select the options, and then it'll only download those required files + dependencies instead of 25+GB of things

The best part about NY trying to ban 3D printers is that they're ONLY trying to ban 3D printers, not any CnC equipment actually capable of machining the metal parts you would need to actually make a gun the normal way. Are they going to ban cold hammer forges next without a background check? Oh and the best part about this is that any shop that owns a 3D printer will no longer be able to hire felons. Just imagine you worked for a half a decade in prison on work release studying to get your Journeyman as a machinist or a mechanic, and now that every shop is getting a 3D printer to make parts on, you no longer are legally allowed to work in those industries because of being banned from interacting with this ubiquitous technology that is going to eventually be in almost every home in the country (no seriously, they're already cheap enough). It's fucking stupid too, you don't need a background check to purchase smokeless powder, or crude ammonal (brand name tannerite) explosives, and put them inside of a metal pipe that you scored with a pineapple pattern, and put a fuse in the top. None of those items are restricted in who can purchase them, only in how they're supposed to be stored safely, and can do far more damage if your goal was to commit a crime. It's especially dumb since they're not making it illegal to build your own printer from parts. I don't think the legislators realize how easy it would be to acquire one even without going out of state. This is not going to work lmao

How easy is it to get and run the CnC compared to 3D Printing though? The cost, the size, the expertise, the whole load of different machines you would need to CnC a metal gun is A LOT. Still don’t think 3D printers should need a background check but your argument makes no sense at all.

Having worked in social research, one thing that seemed to hold true is that if a survey question has been asked in a certain way for a not-insignificant amount of time, the client is often either uneasy or completely unwilling to change it - because it mucks with the comparability between old and new data.

for the steam auto updates, you still can enable games to update the moment they get an update, you just need to enable that feature for every single game you have downloaded by,
    1) right clicking the game
    2) going to preferences

    4) and under Automatic Updates change it to High Priority

If they are pushing for background checks for 3d printers they will no doubt realise that the printers can be sold on again to people after the initial sale.

If someone else prints a gun part on it, how exactly will it be proven that the part came from that printer? What kind of serial number on a part couldn't be erased? As in while it's still in its original packaging and was never used by a customer the phone can be updated with this pad through the packaging, but once it has been bought and the user has set up the iPhone, a fuse burns through that disables the wireless-pad-update functionality.

I doubt this will be seen. But my recommendation for the survey would be a most common configuration playing either in general or per game. Because it doesn't necessarily follow that someone with a six core processor has say 16 gigs of RAM.

19:45 suppressors for example. not they do not make a gun quiet. they make a gun hearing safe. you can fire them without damaging your ears, but you will still hear it is a gunshot, cause, fun fact, gunshots are LOUD. and yeah, with specific ammunition like .300 blackout this noise can further be reduced, but even then you will hear it is a gunshot.

My big issue with the "click the notification button" is that if I were to do that with every channel I subscribe to, then I would get constantly spammed by RUclips. You are completely right on the Recomendation system where this is where I get my videos 90% of the time

33:31 there is definitely a reason for this. Publishing the installer takes time, especially in third party platforms like steam. You don’t want to do it so often, it’s much easier to keep an installer longer and let it auto update on launch. The one thing I don’t get is why bundling in the installer so much resources in the first place. Just let people download a 7mb installer and then download from it all you need.

Not a car guy but one thing I took away from our drivers safety course is that having uneven levels of wear on the left & right side of a vehicle is dangerous, front/back is less of a problem but left/right can cause you to spin out due to the difference in traction between two, especially in bad weather or in emergency situations were you have to throw the car around ex: dodging a moose.

As someone who is a US Citizen that supports both the Second Amendment and smarter gun legislation and controls, I'm with you and Luke. The language is way overreaching because it said "ANY PARTS". This is effectively banning all 3D printers because all printers can make some part of a gun without making the actual parts that makes a gun work. while things like the barrel, firing pin, trigger, receiver and other parts of the firing mechanism are the only things can be 3D printed, they can only be printed on specific printers due to a requirement of being made of metal. And some of these parts (like the barrel specifically) are far better made on lathes and mills. And while there are some filaments strong enough to print those items, they are no where near reliable and durable enough to be used in a firearm without injuring the operator of said gun.
Yeah, this is what you get when uninformed politicians start making policy because it sounds good. "Look! We're doing something about 'The Gun Problem'" without doing something about the actual problems people are facing on the streets.

I've only owned vehicles 30 years or older. Defensive driving is a must and I always keep my eyes open for motorcycles in particular. Even going out of my way to keep to shoulders on the highway to allow bikes go through in congested sections
