    The Architect Of Sound: Very astute way of connecting a controller in a club; unless, someone else can think of a more pragmatic way of disembogue audio signals. You certainly have great deal of knowledge along with your passion that will augment longevity.

    Awesome video. I could not figure out how to use the xlr cables but I did use the RCA's. I connected a DDJ-1000 to a DJM 750 MK2. Thank you kindly from the States.

    Why is the recommendation to trim to "a few" orange blocks, instead of aiming for +/- 0 (for example on a XDJ-RX2 that would be one orange light) to have as much headroom as possible (to prevent clipping and limiting even in the worst case) but without attenuating the signal (as this, if I'm not mistaken, would worsen the signal to noise ratio if the signal gets amplified again later in the signal path)?

    I use a 5 speaker set up at my pub, two 12" tops & two 15" floors, & 8" monitor ; go through a Numark M4 , Numark Mixtrack FX pro... 0:06 Serato dj pro...
    So when I set up as you have with all your controller settings at 12.o clock and mixer just before red..to get more volume as the evening progresses , I turn up my active speakers only, not anything else.. yes .?

    Hi, I'm looking at adding a rotary mixer to my home set up and wanted some advice on the best way/options.
    I currently have a XDJ XZ controller, Pioneer VM-50 active speakers and 2 x 1210s.
    Would I be able to use this set up? Or should I be looking to add a separate amp, studio mixer?
    Any advice would be appreciated 👍

  • @emxtv
    @emxtv 5 лет назад +4

    I used to bringing my DDJ-RX to the club back then, but know I'm just happy with club's CDJ or using them with on HID mode.
    Why? Because the sound output from my controller never be as good as with CDJ and DJM only. The output sound seems "thin and compressed" and the bass feels not quite "kicking". So the audience feels something wrong, because the sound sounds different.
    Maybe I should change the sound setting at the main mixer, but it is to much hassle at 1 AM in the club, just sayin

    • @gerrithausherr3035
      @gerrithausherr3035 5 лет назад

      I´m not an expert but I honstely doubt the audience will hear a difference. I also think most clubs don´t have such high quality speakers where you can even hear it

      @@gerrithausherr3035 Yes, maybe I'm over audiophile hahaha, I used to ignore it at first, but the club manager once go up to DJ booth and ask me "some thing wrong? the sound bit different, oh I see you are using controller". Since that I never bring may DDJ-RX again to the club :)

      If you want to sure, you can plug the mic into either the controller or the mixer. Do note DJ mixers usually have slightly less EQ control for the mic than a typical PA mixer.

      Essentially the output of the controller (both decks) instead of going directly to the speakers is fed in stereo into one of the channels on the mixer.

    • @TheGuracao
      @TheGuracao Год назад +1

      you would mix on the controller as if you were directly connected to the sound system (like at home). the dj mixer is in that case only there to receive what at home would go directly to your sound system and forwarding it to the clubs sound system.
      with the dj mixer in between its possible for one dj to be playing (for example with 2 cdjs or with another controller on lets say channel 1 (or with the cdjs on lets say 1&2) while the dj playing next can connect his controller to a free channel and when dj one is done with his set then dj two only needs to push the fader up on "his" channel and press play to start his set
