I’ve had the old one for almost a year and just picked up 2 of the new ones, they sound SO GOOD when paired or on there own. The light display technology looks better in the new one and goes to the music SO MUCH BETTER 😂. It’s also a really nice feature that they added the tripod mount at the bottom. My only complaints are that both 2nd Gen speakers kinda sound trash on very low volume which won’t be great for late night lofi beats when you don’t want to wake anyone up, they just make a fuzzy sound. Also the bass tube makes a slight rattle sound when playing, but you can’t really tell if your sitting a couple feet from it. The old version didn’t have any of those problems but the bass is definitely less defined on the old. Overall I would say it’s worth the upgrade for sure if your taking it to parties and stuff, if you just want it for medium volume use then it’s still a great option and the lights will ad a fun vibe. When your trying to use it at low volume though your better off just using your Alexa though😅. Overall 8.5/10 for me!
Hey everyone! I did a lot of research before buying this speaker today. Wasn’t expecting a whole lot…but was initially pleased with the purchase. My needs were lightweight, compact size for transport, battery, and mic input for karaoke. All needs met. Tested it all out, very happy.
Part 2. The added pole mount makes a big difference. Onn did a great job by adding this feature. I have the old Onn and a pole mount is the only thing it lacks.
I just got the Gen 2 version after having the original for about 3 weeks. Key differences are: 1. Wheels are wider apart, it doesn't go into a wobble when you pull it like the original did. 2. You can always use a 3rd party EQ and increase the PREAMP to get more output. I do agree that the second gen isn't as loud as the first one, which had a brighter, harsher sound at high volume. You might take a look at the W-King H10, which gets pretty loud.

in my anything but humble opinion if you are going to do a comparison of two speakers side by side, you should be playing the same song and at the same time marker as each other. Its kinda of hard to accurately compare when ur not even listening to the same segment. . just a suggestion
Thank you for the suggestion. I ran the idea by the executive board and they came back with the decision of "go pound sand." Hey, I tried, but the board is pretty adamant about deviating too much from the current format, considering every Jabroni that comes a long has their own idea on how somebody else should do things on their own channel. 😆
I got the old Onn speaker last month since it was on sale. But had to return it because the battery life sucked unfortunately. I then got the new one. But I realized it wasn't loud enough. I compared it to the W-King T9-2 and they were very close. So I decided to stick with the W King for its portability and loudness and return the new Onn speaker. Anyways, great review. I would like if you could compare the new Onn with the W-King T9-2. The W-King wins in sound, price and size in my opinion.
I don't notice the Onn 2 not really being loud enough. And if that was the case there are easy ways to increase the output. For the price I'm pretty impressed with it. I don't have a W-King T9-2, so no comparison option there.
Ricardo Camacho, the older one is 160 watts and is definitely loud enough!! The problem you had with the battery power not lasting long is because it was definitely "used!" Someone returned it... Always remember that when you purchase any kind of Blue Tooth speaker that you must let it charge up completely, before extended use, this will ensure maximum battery power!! Also because you can pair two speakers together you can get true stereo sound!!!! 🤔
I have the old one, then instead of getting the Gen 2, I bought another Gen 1 used for $60. I'd put those 2 against any speakers when they're linked up.
The second Gen has a warmer sound with more bass than the first gen. Get yourself a 3rd party EQ and increase the upper range if you want a little more volume, or turn up the gain on the EQ.
The bad thing I bought in Walmart a old onn medium party speaker that was so cheap that it cost 50 because it used to cost 89 now I see why Walmart wanted to get rid of the old onn speakers so I got one now after weeks then I saw the new onn medium party speaker that has 200 watts when the one I bought it has 40 watts no fair I just bought the old one weeks ago now this new one is better
I bought the new one and returned it because something happened to the speaker that got distorted and in this comparison generation 1 is better more in banda music or regional Mexican music
I have no idea what banda music is. 😯 Onn has had some reliability issues with their speakers and I had hoped the second gen of these party speakers would be more reliable. I have already heard some reports of the second version having some issues. That's too bad. I did have to return my Onn Large speaker due to some random popping the tweeter was making.😟
U gotta stop buyin speakers & get urself a pair of shoes, lol, anyways played the new one in the store last week & it sounded good, seen the old Large Onn in walmart yesterday for $38 ,was tempted but I have too many, they also have the NEW Onn mid size & I played that & it also sounded good, obviously when u compare diff. speaker ur gonna notice diff. but if u just grab & go not so much, gotta say all my speakers sound good
The ONN Party Speaker Is Not an Ideal or recommendation for extensive volume usage or operations as the main or core components of this compact unit isn’t specifically designed or opted to enable maximum volume usage the onn does not incorporate safety mechanisms for managing and accounting significant driver excursion however while this imposes an limitation in design it can exceed maximum volume with tracks that doesn’t feature heavy sub bass content the enclosure that shoots at enhancing bass performance it does but the overall material, construction, tuning frequency etc, are poorly suited extremely high ported box tuning and when bass boost is enabled from the control center on the onn the driver behaves erratically even noticed at volume 5 as if the driver was being performed over it’s inherent limitations the bass extension desperately does extend as low quite thumpy and punchy within 40-50hz spectrum lacks the housing of advanced circuitry such as dsp processesors in which it’s common competitiver houses jbl partybox models but does indeed have visually striking light show the can relegate or compensate for its inability’s in general for bass response and in comparison with its common competitor in terms of sounding aspects
Indeed but despite the extremely friendly pricing the design isn’t expected to be excellent like its competitors Jbl party boxes but it should offer solid sound to some extent while also maintaining protection as a result users are significantly noticing woofer or driver rattle this is highly seen as an significant failure and disadvantage of the engineering of this complex unit. The low pricing or cost of this standalone unit is indeed low and therefore it incorporates low quality drivers, weak amplification due to low quality compasitors and other related components on the motherboard of the amp poor enclosure design and drivers with significant limitations low excursion capabilities the driver features an application of a standard driver design driver cone consists of poor materials for displacing air necessary for low frequency reproduction with accuracy and many more(etc,) failure to utilize Polly fill for improvements in driver excursion and overall bass response
I would not recommend these to anyone. If had 2 in 3 months and the keep breaking randomly. The reset button doesn't fix it either. Unless someone knows how to fix the issue, they are junk. It won't connect to Bluetooth and doesn't do anything when pressing buttons
I know the first gen had some reliability issues and had hoped they wold address that with the second gen. I did receive some backlash from the Onn fans for stating this previously, however. 😲
The original had a terrible crossover in the large verison. The original medium was better than the large, especially two. I want to know how much better the new medium is compared to the original

Using an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and have the speaker selected in my bluetooth. I had a cheap pair of bluetooth speakers that this has never happened with. Thanks for any input!
Did you ever figure out what was causing this?
Was wondering can you link the Gen 1 (old) and Gen 2 (new) using the onboard "TWS-Link"? 0:18
Yes you can
Can you pair a Gen 2 and the first gen together
sure
Where do you get the new ones at I can’t find them
Walmart
I got the gen 1 and I was shocked but about to get the gen 2 for outdoor use
FYI, Second Gen sounds better, but not as loud.
Is that as loud as it goes😢
No. Check out some of my other Onn Large Party Speaker Gen 2 videos where I demo some copyright free songs.
Mine is stuck on radio and it will not go back to Bluetooth
None of them seem go under 65hz
My on Bluetooth speaker is stuck on the radio and it will not go back to Bluetooth
Can those eBay speakers for $30 compare?
Maybe in volume but sound and build quality no
Do it have a remote ?
No remote. Very few of these type speakers have a remote included. Most of the time your phone/tablet playing is basically the remote.
Can u connect 3 on speakers together
Yes
@@cutefaceassfat I already know I made a video of em
What do you hink of the Hisense party rocker one
I think I've never heard of it. Being from.a.tv.company it's probably a cheap rebranded speaker.
@@JaysStraightUpReviews it is cheap though it seems not to bee of to bad quality it's kinda a 110 clone but for 200 bucks I think this review sums it up real nice (no ad) ruclips.net/video/ZJnR4cykPac/видео.html
Broooo will you please sell me your Old Onn. Speaker?! My power supply broke today and I really don’t want the new one 😢
Who needs jbls...but why not if it sounds decent...gen2 sounds pretty goof
Let's not get crazy now. 😉 The Onn 2 is an improvement over the first one, but the Partybox 110 is still in another league.
Thanks!
No problem!
how to know if it's really generation 2
What? It's a completely different speaker than the first gen.
in my anything but humble opinion if you are going to do a comparison of two speakers side by side, you should be playing the same song and at the same time marker as each other.
This has great sound but the volume quickly decreases after a few hours and gets worse as the battery level lowers.
How tall is it?
How tall is what?
@@keithbannister9271 thanks for all the valuable input, professor.
How do you pair two onn gen 2 speakers?
@@Gseyer1 hold.down the Bluetooth button on both until they sync up.
there will be a comparison of JBL Partybox 310 vs LG XL7S
Did you post on the wrong video? 😝
I have the old one, then instead of getting the Gen 2, I bought another Gen 1 used for $60. I'd put those 2 against any speakers when they're linked up.
Good to hear you are happy with them. Enjoy. 😊
That's what I said. Can buy 3 for price of one of anything else.
I got it and it doesnt sound loud at all
The second Gen has a warmer sound with more bass than the first gen.
The new Onn Medium 2 looks to be the same substantial improvement over the old model as the Large 2 is over the old model.
Noo gen 2 better than 1
what is the name of the new speaker?
I guess just ONN Large Party Speaker gen 2. Not sure why they can't give it a real name.
Those aren't woofers, one on the back. Those are base 5-inch speakers.
What? This has two woofers and two tweeters on the front. There's nothing on the back but a port. And what is a base 5 inch speaker? 😆
How do they sound with 2 linked like that
I never had two at once to try. They will do TWS with a pair of them, however.
The old one sounds better as it got louder.
Louder isn't always better, but your ears decide. 😆
Good review but you should have tried to pair them. Inquiring minds want to know.
Maybe next time. 😛
U gotta stop buyin speakers & get urself a pair of shoes, lol, anyways played the new one in the store last week & it sounded good, seen the old Large Onn in walmart yesterday for $38 ,was tempted but I have too many, they also have the NEW Onn mid size & I played that & it also sounded good, obviously when u compare diff. speaker ur gonna notice diff. but if u just grab & go not so much, gotta say all my speakers sound good
Why did you bring up shoes? I do have shoes. 😆

Translation, it's a cheap Chinese speaker sold at Wal-Mart for $119. 😆

I bought it and it wasent as i expected
What were you expecting?
The original had a terrible crossover in the large verison. The original medium was better than the large, especially two. I want to know how much better the new medium is compared to the original
I just bought the gen2 medium onn party speaker, it's amazing!
@@TheonlyNonlethalninja Nice, I might have to flip the two originals and get two of those. Just visually it looks like a worthy upgrade and the fact they kept it at about the same price is a plus.
@@treenugs117did u get both of them yet
The old one sounds better, if you improve on a product please make it better than the previous gen.
Yeah, if you prefer an overly bright, hollow sound with sub par bass capability, the old one is the speaker for you. 😂
Noo
Gen 2 better
They should’ve made this capable of being Daisy Chained. No Aux in😡😡😡
Onn Party 2 does have Aux in.
Your light functions, you got robbed... or put some music on and change the light functions. There should be like 17 different strobes, i believe. I have never just lit mine up just to do it, but my strobes are all different colors waving in and out usually starting with the blue and red and waving, looping into many different colors. I turned lights on with no music and it was basic like yours, put music to it and the strobes come alive.
I didn't get robbed. 😆 There are like 5 or 6 light modes to pick from. I have a few other videos with this speaker features. Check them out. 😉
my 1st gen..is louder than the 2nd gen..I almost took it back
The first one is louder due to it's overly bright treble. 🤮

Thanks for your comment, Mr. Biden. Like has so often been the case, Mr. Biden, you are seriously confused and disoriented. There is nothing in the description, nor in the video itself, stating this is a review. Now if you can manage to do so, perhaps with the help of Jill, check out my other videos featuring the Onn Large Gen 2 speaker where I DO talk about the sound and even give some sound demos and comparisons with other speakers. 😎 Who knew???😂
