That little ‘click’ Lenny mentions at the end is very important. The release may seem to be installed correctly, and the slide will come forward when the release is pressed, but unless the part is seated in the pin groove the slide will not release when pulled back with a loaded magazine inserted.

That being said, I've found a clever way to hit the slide release with my left hand without losing time between mag changes. Love this video, I will be getting this upgrade; I know this extended slide release will help out.

How many did you have to pick up off the shelf to find one that fits right? Waited 2 months extended kit for the 19 all garbage pins too short ends have stubs and the slide stop is so long it sits on the rear lip it should sit between
I installed mine exactly as described and it locks back my slide every time I rack the slide. No magazine or a mag with ammo, doesn’t matter, the slide wants to lock back after every action.

Think of the slide stop as like a leaf spring on a car if it moves it wants to return to its original position. Once the pin & locking block is in place it is putting force on the piece. When you push up on the slide lock/stop with your thumb you are increasing tension on the entire piece - once released it returns to position. The spring isn't actually moving, but its keeping tension on the piece.
@@BigAlWillis not a chance it is putting any tension on it, its on a small end captured. A leaf spring is hooked to a frame and an axle,2 separate parts that move independantly from each other with the leaf working in conjunction between them. This goofy little spring is wedged between the end of a piece with no way to hold tension on anything but the 2 ends of the same piece.
I recently ordered 2 of the Double Diamond Extended Slide Stop for G43, and I am completely disappointed with this product! It does not fit or function properly. When engaging, the top of the slide lock lever contacts the locking block and does not come up high enough to fully engage the slide. It barely reaches the slide, and typically not enough to lock, or hold, the slide back. And then, the hole in the slide lock must not be properly placed, as it was a huge pain to remove the trigger pin to take the slide stop back out. I have never had these issues before. I have always been happy with my Glockstore products, but this one is terrible.

The “extended” part of this item will rub against the frame of your glock just FYI in case you have a cerekote or something and don’t want to scratch or scuff up your gun (unfortunately this is what happened to me haha) so annoyed

It’s difficult to release it because that’s NOT what that lever is meant for, it’s called a SLIDE STOP for a reason, it’s whole purpose is to lock the slide open on an empty magazine. Using a slide stop to release the slide on almost any gun is another way to possibly induce a malfunction, the slide has more rearward travel past the slide stop notch for a reason, to fully load the recoil spring to help strip a round from the magazine and get it into the chamber.
No it's not. The "slide lock" is the part that people call the take down levers. It "locks" the slide on the frame. Go look at glock blow apart scematic with all the parts and their names smart guy.
