Hi Hannah, thank you so much for this video. It perfectly describes my experience with Intestinal Failure (in my case, due to severe Crohn's disease and the resulting Short Bowel Syndrome). I've really struggled lately with the fact that lockdown has made it hard to stay out of the "existential doom" part of the repeating emotional cycle that comes with needing drastic bowel surgery every few years. I was feeling disappointed in myself about the fact it IS a cycle; that I don't have the upward trajectory we see in movies: diagnosis > gloom > recovery > plateau. Well, your video has helped a lot by reminding me that other people get this too. The more books, videos, blogs etc. by people like us who've actually lived with this, hopefully the better we CAN live with it.
You're so good at putting your thoughts into words, I feel like from each of your videos I can take a lesson home. Please continue what you do, I like taking part in what you share every time! I wish you all the best!
This is such a poorly understood ting. Thank you for putting words to it ❤ cyclical grief is as much a part of our different chronic or terminal illnesses as the physical aspekt.
