I just stumbled across you again Buck. I didn’t realise you were back on the tube again. Great to see you guys doing well and the new van looks great 👍🇦🇺🍻
19:30 If one doesn't have an MPPT Controller, then you can't charge from the solar panels as you drive, only the DC-DC charger will charge. The idea of having a second MPPT controller for charging from portable panels is important - it might, just might, mitigate against a gen set. Despite having 1.2 KW of solar and 900Ah of Enerdrive Lithium, I had to move after three weeks and succumb to an Engel 2.3 KW genset - caught short once but never again. If you live and work on the road like I do, a genny in remote Oz affects no one. Cheers Buck, great VLOG, Stu
Hi Buck, we have the same van with single beds. Dogs sleep on the lounge when they come with us. We upgraded battery system also with auto electrician. 2000w inverter.. we can boil our kettle in the morning and make a piece of toast. Use thermomix or air fryer if wanting to. We put inverter power point above the power point near door so it we need to use outside the cord reaches. We put diesel heater under the single bed. We’ve had ours 4 years and haven’t found anything we like more. Tare 2043kg and it tows awesome behind our Y62. Enjoy and I am sure Ron will just love her new space. Enjoy. 😊
Excellent Video Buck. You know your products and how to make your caravanning life so much better and easier. Your very knowledgeable. Looking forward to the Boss product instructions.
This is going to be one souped up Jayco! Good stuff! I'm a big fan of the Crazy Dog products. Got some more stuff on the way. With this, I buy once, buy smart. Quality is unmatched. I am really looking forward to an Engel generator style 8 clips on the 370 legs! Rubbing my hands together lol
Hey Mr Buck, been a while since I watched, but last time I watched you had a Hybrid. Funny thing is we had once and now back to a Jayco full van. You’ll love it so much once the mods are done. I’ll be giving Jan a buzz to get a wall also.
Hi young Buck. Great video again mate. Just a bit of advice for your charger mate since you already have Victron in van stick with it so they can connect with each other. You can take it with a grain of salt but that's what I've got. If you have any questions call Sola & sat in Bundaberg very knowledgeable people.
@Mrbuckaroonie.. great discussion 👍 Buck. For me I had wanted enerdride but after talking to the lads at sola n sat there opinion was the blue V . It's a full system but not over the top. I'm in the middle of installing it myself . One more thing mate I'm putting in & after having a van stolen in the past is a WI TI system. Food for thought for your van.
Good onya Buck, another great video. We have just purchased a new to us caravan and going through the process of setting it for off grid camping. Our van has a Bmpro battery management system installed which I think I will work with eg installing a dcdc charger of the same brand, finding a good auto sparky in our area will be fun.
Buck my only regret buying a Shady Gear Awning from Jan at this year's caravan show is that I didn't buy Two! They are a bloody great bit of kit and we love it. ❤
Well you can see that you have a well thought out plan to improve your van for a better camping experience. Your intention to just sikaflex the sail track is very sound. Adequate clamping while the sikaflex cures will see a very strong bond. Anyone that has tried to remove silicon sealed items off their van will attest to how strong the adhesive properties of silicon is . Very interested in how the van turns out with all the improvements.
G'day buck I'm doing a complete Reno on my Jayco designer 16ft van hopefully have it ready for the camping with mates next year already converted it to 12volt so far but pulling the single beds out for a double.
Last thing, if you want to run the DC-DC charger while idling, a PXIII Ranger will automatically turn off after 20 minutes. There's nothing in the handbook - just personal experience.
I have a older van which only has 100ah lithium battery with a 200w fixed solar panel. Instead of spending mega dollars on upgrading battery systems - I bought a portable 100ah lithium battery and a Honda generator. Both of these I will keep beyond owning the van and it works a treat - even runs the aircon
Bucks you need the DC-Dc charger from Victron 12/12/50A Orion XS (dont get the superseeded 12/12/30) I have a lot of Victron stuff and I run 1x 12/12/30 DC-DC and 1 x 12/12/50A Orion XS amoung a lot of other stuff from Victron.
Network your 2 Victron together via Bluetooth. Once use Victron, I doubt will ever use another brand. Make sure your Lithuim battery BMS has 200amp rating before using that 2000watt invertor. Hate for you to destory your 200amp Lithuim battery in the long term.
I don’t suppose you have a discount code for shady gear ? I might have to bite the bullet and shell out for the good stuff, I’ve learnt over the last couple of years that the cheap stuff is cheap for a reason 😢😢the poor man pays twice. I’ll have to wait until I have a problem with the legs for the BOS gear, we’ve already had to replace two legs over the years and at the most inconvenient times 😢😢. But if it ever happens again it’s BOS all the way around for us. You did the original BOS clip about a month after I bought a electric front jockey wheel and although it works brilliantly and I can not fault it,I had to pay for an engineer to mount it and an auto elec to wire it up 🤑🤑🤪🤡. We used the anti flap kit once years ago and haven’t bothered with it since, we still cart it around but I honestly couldn’t even tell you where it is.👁️👁️😎😇🐕🦺❤️🇦🇺
What? Another caravan but you got rid of the last one coz caravan life wasn't working?A drifta to a caravan to a drifta to a caravan. What's ya underwear drawer like? 😅
Still makes me laugh how you recommend products but you don't back up what you say about them? Sizzler BBQ for example....You highly recommended it to your viewers, yet you no longer use it and do not reply to comments. You are only in this for views and money, not for real world reviews
The Sizzler BBQ went with the caravan when I sold it. As for being in this for the money. You see me asking people for money? I don't have a donate button on my channel or Patreon like most of the channels out there. I lot of the money I have made from youtube has gone on charity mate. This channel has raised over 50K for various charities over the years. Have a think about your comments before you gob off in future.
@@Mrbuckaroonie.. If it really was that good, then why let it go with your van. Its the worst BBQ ever made. I understand you didn't make it. Good on you for donating to charity :)
Hey Bucks you will ready to give the old telegraph track to the Cape a crack and even do Gunshot! Nice work buddy, hope to see you on the open road, be good, safe caravanning and say hello to Ros and Raf for us mate. 👍🤩🚐

Lots to do buck, most solar blankets have a mppt reg on them already all you need is an Anderson plug wired direct to battery.
3 out of 4 of my solar panels are unregulated mate.
Get the victron xs50 dcdc charger.. put both mppt solar chargers and dcdc into ve network and they play together mate

Does the van have a battery shut so you know the battery state of charge, if not victron have a good Bluetooth one.
Bucko it’s a live in lines on wheels I love it does it have a anti nagging filter built in lol
Looks like Xmas came early.where is this shady gear mob or is it all online?
No Jan does not have a shop front mate. You will see her at the caravan and 4wd shows but. shadygearaustralia.com.au.
You can run aircon with generator, not with inverter, dont worry you learn lol
Yeah had no intention of running it off inverter. The inverter is so we can use air fryer etc off grid.

Why you bother about inverter ? dont you have generator ? inverter take so much power, 2000 Watts ouch, i gave mine away i had 2000 watts renolgy,
