Three months after this show the lead singer, one of the guitarists, a backup singer, road manager and two flight crew members were killed in a small plane crash that seriously injured the other 20 band members and roadies. The plane crashed in a heavily wooded swamp in Mississippi. Two of the less injured ran through the forest for help (no cell phones). Rescuers had to cross a 20-foot-wide, waist-deep creek, through a forest to bring victims back to the highway. Locals helped by driving victims to the hospital in the back of pick-up trucks. It was determined that the crew neglected to check fuel supply and the plane ran out of gas.
