Good job creating the tree, good story behind the tree as well. I am enjoying your informative videos.I just inquired my first two shimpaku junipers they are very young only about six inches 😊
David, a great start on "Mother' I can see the layers in the crown already, it's pity about the long straight trunk but i'm sure we can get around it. 👏
I’ve put up a few videos in the past on some of the air layers and their progress. These take time but yes I will always do videos on their progression.
It is interesting that the juvenile foliage is not what is produced on the growing tips. Trees are so much more complex than they look! Shimpaku as a cascade, that reminds me of a tree I have seen somewhere . . . ! ;)
Nice video! How do we know when to use raffia and when is the best time to perform this work? Semi cascade is a great idea think im going to try this on my shimpaku this year if it looks right
I would only use raffia if the trunk was much thicker and I only wanted to bend in one basic direction with some movement. Raffia doesn't allow me to put it massive twists and turns that I like to create.
Bonsai phill very good quality trees thanks DAVID NICE WORK WELL done
I have a Hollywood Juniper i'm working right now that has a leggy top like this one. Well done and much appreciated!
So beautiful bonsai. Super
Good work... my friend😍

I'd be interested in watching a video of some or all of the trees that you have made from the air layers of this mother tree.
