Wow, it sounds like you live in a lovely old house, and thanks for the fantastic info about Witches marks and token patterns, everyday is a school day. Excellent finds and even a love token in a very boggy field, luckily Wendy and myself have been detecting on a new permission and it is on a hillside and drains very quickly so it is nowhere near as boggy as your permission. Hi Robbie, lovely to hear from you 😘 yes the mark is veey interesting….I noticed the other day when I was rewatching one of my shorts videos…..there’s a lead ampulla being shown to me and underneath it has the same mark…..it’s definitely to ward of evil and to hopefully bring good luck….in that case hoping for a good crop or safe journey maybe? Goes with the territory around here…lol lots of swampy land near me. My mum used to say that I used to eat mud as a kid, I do remember playing with worms 🪱 🤣🪱🤗

Hi Bill and Julie…..yeah it was a tad damp 🤣 I loved my gilt button at the end but struggled to find out much about the maker….someone else did some better research than me though and found out that there was someone called Hobday who lived just 4miles away from that field!
