Wow! This very episode is how I discovered Fear Factory! I was only 13 at the time and they have been my favourite band ever since. I can' t believe this performance is now on you tube after all these years!
Glad you liked it! I'm actually American, have a very close friend from Regina who told me about this show (Power 30). Watched this show every Monday to Thursday! Hail the Maple Leaf!!
Long shot, but does anyone remember a video on Power 30 or LOUD where the lead singer had the original FF logo on his shirt? I can remember bits and pieces but can't find the video or remember enough to narrow down what band it was....
@@briantownsend9414 I wish I could help. I distinctly remember seeing somebody wearing a Fear Factory shirt in a Bush - X video in the late 90s but that's all I can remember.
Ugh this made me feel old. I remember rushing home from school every day to catch the Pepsi Power Hour and then the Power 30. The power hour is how I discovered PanterA and many other kick ass metal bands. Love this shit! Thank you for posting
You are most welcome! I had/have a good friend who lives in Regina (then moved to Calgary) who told me about the Power 30... My folks got a satellite dish and I watched it every day! Teresa Roncon actually read one of my letters on air and played a Twisted Sister song I requested
Jesus... All Of them in their prime. Christian rocking the eff out on bass, Herrera playing like a damn drum machine, Dino actually jumping with both feet!
Man, their take on the media at 11:00 was way ahead of it’s time. Wonder if Burton and Dino fathomed it would become what is now over the last 28 years?
Man i remember being in 2nd grade watching mortal kombat on the hot box everyday for weeks mid 90s and flipping out every time i saw Scorpion and johhny cage fighting in hell to fear factory zero signal .. been following ff ever since
I saw Spineshank, Hed Pe and System of a Down open for Fear Factory back in 99 in a small club in East St. Louis when I was 16. I remember being so close to the little stage Dino smoked me in the chest with a half full water bottle. I was a poor dehydrated kid though so I drank it. Still to this day stands out as the best concert I've ever been to. When I was leaving that concert someone was handing out a 2 song demo tape for a up and coming band called Slipknot. I remember wearing that tape out listening to the 2 songs over and over!
I got to see that same tour in Minneapolis in March of 99. Only difference was instead of Spineshank, Static X opened. Great show, especially for $10 a ticket at First Ave.
@Sickof Itall It was such a small venue for the energy these bands brought! I went to so many amazing shows thru the 90's amd saw the best bands but that concert stands out as the best.
@@EYE69MYSELF I got to see Gojira - Machine Head - Trivium and LoG as the headliner at Cain's Ballroom in March of 2007. The show was more expensive, like $25 or so, but that is probably my all time favorite concert. It helped that I got to bring a coworker/friend with me that had never been to a metal show before. He was blown away.
I am old enough to wish I was able to watch this when it was live. thank you so very much uploader. you are a gentleman and a scholar of the metal arts.
Congrats to original lineup on the 25th anniversary this year, so nice to see these interviews, and hope to see the original machine-tight lineup again one day. And cool host with the jokes and metal knowledge - remembering and pronouncing Brujeria without reading it from her card
From the thumbnail, I was expecting one of these talkshow ladies being shocked when the invited metal band starts playing. But what a positive surprise, both in terms of her questions, vibe in the studio and the FF performance. Drums = best mode.
It must be such an awesome feeling to create this new level-shit these days! I wonder whys they never get that success what KoRn or Slipknot got. Maybe cause Burton never brought the same epicness from the album on stage?! I would find it great when they would also took more from the effects in live, it's not a shame. Vocals also can have live effects, like many other instruments, why not? But... it's still awesome anyway! Oh and damned.... don't know if it's just the pixels cheating here, but: she's ultra-hot! :D
Have you ever actually seen them live? FF used to completely DESTROY the stage. Nah, they were not as relevant because FF was born between Death and Industrial, which is considerably niche compared to the bands you just mentioned. Also, were not for their lack of consistency and personal problems, they'd be today as respected, famous and beloved as Machine Head is, for example. Never as famous as Korn or Slipknot, but still alive and rocking with thousands of faithful fans.
@@Albertredneck No, unfortunately I haven't seen them live. But I have seen much of live-videos and in the last 20 years the most of their performances almost wasn't that great as back in the 90es cause Burtons voice became weaker and weaker over the years. I would like to see them live anyway but it seems that they are splitted now irrevocably. The rest I can just agree I'm a big fan of those bands, I bought my first albums of KoRn, FF, Machine Head and many others (like the most of the Roadrunner label) started back in 98 as I was 13, stayed a fan till today and the most of them I have seen live at least one time but never Fear Factory. :( And yes, FF was probably too crazy for the masses. They never had such a big New-Metal influence like the most of the other bands back in these days, even Digimortal was pretty much more like "their thing" compared to KoRn's Follow The Leader or MH's Burning Red for example. So that's why FF never got the very big success and became more rare for live gigs. Even they was - simular to Machine Head during their first decade - more successfull here in Europe than in the US, they never played that much live here in Europe like Machine Head did, espicially after digimortal as they had their first "crisis". And that's just sad for me, cause they are probably the most unique Metal-Band I know, created their own Genre, like KoRn but unlike KoRn they never got copied that much and they almost stayed on their style all over the years. They are still unique pioneers! At all I just wanted to say it must have been a magical time back in the 90es for Metal-musicians. There was so much too explore, so much space for creating totally new shit. And I'm just totally unhappy that I missed to see them live. It's so sad that they probably disapear now forever. :( To see the 25th anniversary-show of MH's Burn my Eyes was so magic to me, it wa like bringing back my youth. I wish I would have a moment like this with FF's breaking Demanufacture. But that will never happen, no chance! Burton's new Band is not what I like so much and without Ray and Chris Dino also never again has written such epic songs as they did on Demanufacture, so I was pretty disapointed with all of their albums after Archetype and I guess none of them alone ever will arise the spirit of FF. It's buried. Arkaea is now like the biggest left piece of broken FF even it's still pretty far away from the FF-style.
Best line up ever from fear factory nowadays without burton and herrera dont listen anymore especially with this new singer the heart was burton without him just done for me
@@davidmertens4737 dont get me wrong. at this time bcb was not bad at cleaning parts. He remains a huge reference for me, even if milo silvestro is much better at cleaning voice today.
Without Dino none of their albums would exist. Raymond had a part in some of the sound but it's majorly all Dino and Burt's singing. Best example of this was when they tried to do FF without Dino: they tripped but were ok (archetype) and then they fell (transgression and arkaea)
@@philb7431 And now dino lives from the past without ideas with his same themes of the future instead of adapting to more social themes for example from Mechanize to date it is the same rubbish there is no innovation with that man.

The legendary line-up, and the legendary energy and voracity that came with it. The best FF era for me, and their best album.
