  • Do you ever want a personalized doll that looks like you? We will look at creating a custom doll head ready for 3D printing. This doll head will is based on an image of a natural person. The image is imported into FaceGen Artist Pro to create the Genesis Custom head. The head is exported to Daz Studio and applied to a Genesis 8 male character.
We export the entire character as an FBX file. Next, the FBX imports into Blender 3D. Next, the Bisect tool separates the head from the rest of the body. Finally, extrude and Scale is used to model the neck socket.
3D Print Toolbox is used to clean up and export the new custom head. Then, you can use the STL file in a slicer program such as Prusa or Chitubox.
This process is NOT a step-by-step guide and is adaptable for many different workflows.

    01:52 - Daz Studio Genesis 8 Character
02:47 - Daz Studio FBX Export
03:30 - Blender FBX Import (Genesis 8 Character w/ Custom Face)
04:05 - Ball Jointed Doll Head STL import (for reference)
04:28 - Resizing Meshes to be relatively equal in size
06:46 - Using Bisect on Genesis 8 Mesh
    08:38 - Isolating Genesis 8 Mesh head
10:40 - Modelling Mesh head to have an appropriate socket for Ball Jointed Doll Neck
16:06 - Use Solidify Modifier to give mesh thickness for 3D Print
17:58 - Use 3d Print Toolbox for cleanup and export
    19:34 - 3D Head in Chitubox slicer

FaceGen is more of its own application that can export to Daz Studio. It's a paid application, though. Another alternative for FaceGen is Face Transfer from the Daz Store. It's a bit cheaper. See the video in the description for a comparison of the two.

I don't currently do so. Maybe in the future. However, with the way I make my characters, I would have to pay more license fees in some cases to legitimately make 3D characters out of the models. So I'd have to think about a long term plan.

How to find high-definition without expressions without blocking the high-definition photos, such photos are difficult to find

It can be difficult to find for people you don't know personally. I usually search for the person's name and 'front' or 'profile' picture.
