The city serves as the headquarters of Kasur District. Kasur is the 24th largest city of Pakistan by population. It is famous for many things. One of them is the Fenugreek (Methi) grown here which has a great aroma. The Methi exported from here is called “Kasuri Methi”. Many South Indians call it Kasthuri Methi which now is quite an accepted term.
