I love watching these old game. I was in Army Basic training and missed the first 9 weeks of the season. I when I went to Texas for school afterwards, they would show all the Dallas games and Miami was never shown while I there. I was only able to see Miami once on the Monday Night game..
I was a kid when I saw this for the first time. The more I watch as an adult the more I realize just how many fumbles Sammie Smith had. Almost every 1990 game he put the ball on the ground.
I thought this particular Dolphins team has been their best contender since this time (I know the 1992 team hosted the AFC title game, but I think this team was more formidable).
I have to disagree a little, this was a good team but they got pretty well handled by the physical teams that year. The Giants game was a perfect example. The more I think about it the more I think 1993 would have been the year. Fantastic start. Historically teams that had knocked on the door the prior year usually broke through the following one. But the Gods were cruel and literally cut us off at the achilles heel.
@@DiversityDragons I agree about the 1993 Team. They were an improved team coming off a Conference Championship Game. I know the Bills beat up on us in Jan. of 1993 but the 1993 team was starting to round into form and then that dang Field in Cleveland!

It's really a shame how literally every uniform change that's occurred since the early 90's is not just a regression but in most cases it's a dramatic one at that. I'd love a random survey of fans to see if it's overwhelming in agreement. Bills, Dolphins, Pats, Jets, Tennessee, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Denver, Seattle, Giants, Redskins, Eagles, Cardinals Vikings, Lions, Buccaneers, falcons, Saints, Rams. I can come up with one change for the better only and that's the Chargers👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼And finally to the Steelers, Chiefs, Raiders, Cowboys, Bears, Packers and 49ers ,I would like to personally salute & thank you all for bucking this annoying practice in this country of total disregard for history & tradition in all aspects of life, culture, style etc of constantly changing for changes sake and honoring the proud storied histories of your franchises legacy. 😉🥳😊🫡👏🏼🫸🏼🫷🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Bill Walsh was a brilliant, spot on analyst. RIP
Sammie Smith had 8 fumbles over 6 games, so he didn’t fumble in “almost every 1990 game”. There were 16 games and he fumbled in 6 of them.
Thanks a lot for these!

Just imagine how many SB’s Dan Marino would have won had the ownership given him a defensive before his play started to decline.
