Jesus loves us Abertillery...we are His lost sheep...He is lookin for us all...some of us been found others are still in darkness. Keep lookin for Jesus...He is lookin 4 u xx
A very sad but true picture of Abertillery. The mines were the heart of Aber, take the mines away and the hearts gone. The people of Aber are the salt of the earth. But the town needs jobs and I just don’t see that happening. Most graduates leave the town , if there were still mines I’m sure many would stay. We’ll have to wait another 100 years when they go after the seam again. There still plenty of coal there!
Most of the 'closed down shops' on here were just shut! This was probably filmed early morning or on a sunday! Hope things can get better for Aber. It's certainly got a lot of problems, although this documentary didn't really reflect those accurately.
The Mosiac shown was created by Abertillery Comprehensive pupils, one of which is my cousin. And the shops were closed at the time of filming, so you were filming the bad points of abertillery. There are many many more good things about abertillery, we harvest and nurture the talent of all ages, so shut up and get your facts right.

the lovely memorial under the bridge, the council smashed it up, as it was cheaper than repairing that lovely art work
