    Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Just bought a similar 100A welder for £50 new.

    Great series of videos very well done and explained. I have been welding for years but using a high voltage 575v [Canada] Stik welder and recently bought a small welder like this. Agree with 6011 and 6013 x 3/32 as you have described. 7018 3/32 work but not as well.

    You can get E6011 rods here in Belfast if you order off Ebay. You don't need to go to the states. Cheers from the North.

    Don't want to sound gay but you have pretty eyes. LOL! That sounded really GAY! Should that welder be able to work on a bike frame? It's what I bought it for but I can't get the damn thing to weld. Just a bunch of sparks. Maybe it's the rod.

      it is a AC welder and the proper rod is 1/16 or 3/32 6013 for this welder and for the thin mettle you do want the 6013 1/16 rods
      also 7018ac rods will work well in a size of 1/16 with this welder but larger rods will be a bugger to get a nice smooth weld with

    Great videos! I'm watching your very practical videos because I'm thinking of purchasing a 100amp. Ferm welder to stitch back together a peeling piano hinge to it's 8mm supporting member on the garden gate. Your demo was fantastic!! Thanks for sharing your skills!!

    Have seen a few videos by welding professionals that use 6011 for the root pass, then layer it with 7018. Layering with 7018 will give a stronger weld than layering it with 6013. Here in the states we can get 7018AC rods, made for AC current welders whereas the regular 7018 rods are for DC current welders.

      7018 and 6011 or 6013 are not even in the same ballpark
      7018 are 70.000 lb tinsel strength were 6011/6013 are 60.000lb tinsel strength 7018 are designed for AC also by the way not just DC and please correct me if i am wrong www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us/Consumables/Pages/product.aspx?product=Products_Consumable_StickElectrodes-MildandLowAlloySteels-Excalibur-Excalibur7018-1MR(LincolnElectric)

    Don't know if you've got access to 7014 but they run very well in these machines. Great to cap welds.

    I would have liked you to flip the joint over to see the penetration from the back side,but other than that a great welding video. Thanks

    Thanks for the informative videos. I also liked the "teardown" video of you repairing the 100Amp welder.
    Just a question: what is the BRAND of that welder? Is it just a regular Chinese buzzbox, or is it built in Europe or elsewhere? It seems to work a lot better than some of the others exhibited on RUclips. Of course, maybe it's that you're good at what you do, and make it look easy...

      The welder in this video series appears to be a generic 100amp Chinese welder. Is sold under a few different brand names, but all are the same welder. I just bought the 130amp Arksen brand version of this welder. Will be posting a few videos to my channel of that welder.

    You probably can weld with a razor blades attached to the wire. My question: Can this welder handle steel to cast iron with 6011?

    • @dexter2433
      @dexter2433 7 лет назад +1

      most welders can handle cast iron .....were you have problems with cast iron is it cracking when it cools down to fast .and to solve this problem you need to heat it with a torch or oven do the weld then allow it to cool slowly as in very slow ...like some one keeping a torch on it for like an hr as you back off the heat ....or a oven that allows it to cool over night ..cast iron is brittle and must cool off very slow or it will just crack right next to the new weld ..the torch is a old school way farmers get it done the proper way is a oven by dropping then temp over a 6 to 12 hr time span till at room temp ....also why you never add cold water to a hot cast iron motor unless running if it over heats because you can crack the block cooling it off to quick
