The Secret Tunnel song in the live action was mesmerizing tho. But they kinda changed and mixed and matched the story points relating to it to condense the show, sooooo... it felt weird.
The leaves on the vine in the live action was not that bad. time line wise was confusing with zuko and his cuz being in like same army training but the emotional part was great with zuko sitting next to his uncle for the rest of the wake pretty much shows there bond so that was nice.
If you never watched the original, it s an okay scene. If you ve watched the original, the scene is a mess. It tries to exploit the emmotionnal bagage of the song but without "deserving" the pay off. And it creates a lot of issues in the timelines. Like, in the original lu ten s death happens when zuko is around eight to ten. This gives time to explain iroh s change from a bloodthristy general trying to conquer the earth kingdom to a master ranking member of the white lotus... Also explains why he met waterbenders etc... He went in personnal exil both to grieve his son s death and to avoid creating a succession conflict with his brother after the coup. Now that lu ten s death happens right before zuko s agnikai, you can t explain iroh s past... It also changed the relationship between zuko and iroh. In book1, zuko often shows contempt for his uncle (calling him lazy, coward etc...). He respects him as a bender but not as a leader (since he is the loser of ba sing se) This explains the back and forth in their relationship and why zuko will betray him at the end of book2 to side with Azula. Now that Netflix zuko-iroh are closet and all lovey dovey from the get go, it will be hardet to write a convincing change of heart for zuko at the end of book2. Why would the nice netflix zuko, loving his uncle even after he ran away from ba sing se, betray him? So, cool scene at first glance, but lot of issues in the long game.
@etienne8110 that was a issue with the characters they were all one note like the dial Zuko for honor to the max so with Suko with like responsibility. Don't know why the direct the characters that why no wonder the original people left.
Am I the only one that’s not feeling azula? Like the actor is fine… although I feel like she would make a better toph, it’s what they do with her character… she doesn’t have that same energy, that formidability. I feel like you play azula like one plays Harley Quinn (especially like in Batman the animated series) dangerous but smart beautiful but deadly she doesn’t have the same weight as she did in the anime/cartoon, and yea I know you can say that about X amount of characters, but I always felt they got the heart of the characters right outside of bumi. Even the changes to Sokka aren’t terrible and he retains a lot of what makes him likable. They Mary sued kattara but she still feels like kattara they just speed rushed her character. Maybe you just can’t find anyone to play azula as the actress would be and is young but the biggest problem that I have with azula is she’s just normal. Nothing makes me worried or scared of her, like when she puts her team together in the show, she goes to get Tylee from the circus and tylee says no, azula makes her pay for it and you get the feeling that if she’s willing to go these lengths to torture her friends what will she do to her enemies. She has this it factor every time she’s on screen, this version doesn’t have that it factor, she’s portrayed fine enough I just wish they fully unleashed azula. You mean this meek katara feels like the sugar queen original? Really? Azula just feels defanged in the netflix. She went from perfectionnist , cruel, lethal danger. To angsty preteen with anger management issues. I hope they ll be able to really make her feel more dangerous in book2.
@@etienne8110 yes, especially with the heart of the katara. I feel like the actor is doing a good job coming across as the headstrong, loving, moral center of the group. Is she perfect? no, did they write her horribly in this adaptation? yes, but with better writing I feel like her and aang would really shine. On azula we completely agree, she is defanged. I still feel like the person playing her character would make a better toph she just has that look for me I can’t explain it.
If they could adapt Daydreams & Nightmares I would imagine them just going full deranged mode on the talking Appa and Momo by making them into muppets or just turn it into a full-flunged animated sequence just to show how far Aang's mind has warped from lack of sleep. XD
Yeah, my best guess is that they ll skip the swamp and the desert. Because of constraints (creating environnements for one episode), story (not much main plot, except the day of the black sun, which can be delivered in other ways) and costs (CGI for appa, the plant benders, spirits in the library etc...) This will kill all the loss of appa plot. Except if they do a short thing with azula capturing appa, but i doubt it.
You all remember the live action dragon ball movie and the live action Avatar movie and some more projects that studios have tried to do live action? The one piece and avatar live action that has come out in the last year is leagues above anything other studios have tried before with anime. Haters are gonna hate. Lol. I don't like who they cast to play azula and mai. Other than that, great!
Hm, fair points, i hope they just do substitutions for these Moments and if they do, i wonder what they will do instead? What do you think they should do instead?
