    Can’t give Clarke a big contract. He’s getting near 30 and we need the money to resign some of these receivers coming up. Clarke is good but not elite and he’s going to start declining soon.

      Short term 2 years 50 million wouldn’t be bad for Clark as for an extension.

      It’s not going to be many years if they even sign him back at all… Packers are notorious for letting players go to early actually then keeping an aging player who is a liability

    So, we all know that players aren’t paid for what they’ve DONE. They’re paid for what they’re going to do. That projection is where the value lies. Yet, any argument made as to why Jordan Love shouldn’t be paid big money, is because he hasn’t DONE enough.. even tho he’s a 25 year old who played the best at QB across the last 10 weeks last year. His projection is sky high. Pay the man.

    • @JesperEU-gz4kh
      @JesperEU-gz4kh Месяц назад

      no, players are paid for what they are done, and not only that, it's what they are done LATELY, "what they’re going to do" only applies to 3rd contract guys, or guys nearing 30 years old. Cause if it was truly a projection of what they are gonna do then even busts like lets say Becton would've been paid a ton, cause what if he hits that projection

    • @kreed4480
      @kreed4480 Месяц назад +4

      @@JesperEU-gz4kh not true at all. The top 5 highest paid QBs right now have won a total of 0 championships. Mahomes is the best player in football and isn’t even in that bunch. Aaron Rodgers is the most decorated player after mahomes and he’s not even top 10 anymore. It’s pure projection but at the same time teams definitely incorporate health and availability and that’s why players like Mechi Becton haven’t been paid big money.
      I mean, why on earth are they talking about paying Dak Prescott $60+ million per season when he’s won just as many playoff games as Jordan Love? He certainly hasn’t done anything to warrant highest paid yet he’s going to get it…
      Or a better example, Deshaun Watson was paid like $275 million fully guaranteed a few years ago… for what? Winning 1 playoff game? Cleveland paid him hoping he projected to be a top QB which obviously hasn’t worked out but what did Watson do prior to earn that contract?

    • @JesperEU-gz4kh
      @JesperEU-gz4kh Месяц назад

      @@kreed4480 1. Regarding Dak and the likes. That's how any market works. There is a demand in the league for even just good QB play, hence the price continues to go up and that Deshaun Watson's contract is the example of my point, they paid him cause he was top 6 ish QB before all the mess that he created/missed basically 2 years
      2. Mahomes, at the time of the signing had 1 championship and 1 MVP, which is why Chiefs signed him to 45M AAV contract, which was the highest at the time. And of course that contract looks like a bargain today due to rising cap, but even now it's 5th in average cap % at signing

    • @kreed4480
      @kreed4480 Месяц назад +2

      @@JesperEU-gz4kh well thanks for making my point for me guy lol. Jordan played better than all other QBs for half the season and now the market says he’s worth about $55-$60 mil.

      @@kreed4480 he'll ask for that,i have no doubts about it, but that's just half a season,and he was BAD in the 1st half. Also all i was arguing is that players are paid for what they already did,and not Love's presumed salary

    Mahomes and Brady had great coaching, and were coachable. Rodgers was coachable to a point. He won 2 MVPs under MLF, but never embraced the scheme that we saw with Love: 12 didn’t like play action, or throwing in the middle of the field, and his changing the calls would disrupt what MLF was trying to set up. He also had little patience for rookies. MLF’s scheme had rookies wide open vs Dallas and its D Coordinator who is now a Head Coach. Too bad Rodgers couldn’t reinvent himself to fully benefit from MLF’s expertise.

    • @JesperEU-gz4kh
      @JesperEU-gz4kh Месяц назад +1

      all old QBs have little to no patience for rookies, that includes Tom Brady, just go read a story of how he told Bucs to draft WR and then that guy haven't seen the field cause he didn't do what Brady wanted, or how Peyton Manning pointed a rookie WR from the field for trying one handed catch

    I’m not concerned about if what Jordan Love did the second half of the season is real or not. It is REAL, because we saw it. My concern is we haven’t seen him perform with marginal talent around him. It’s easy to put up numbers when you have stellar talent around you. When the talent is diminished that is when the QB has to make talent around him better than what they really are in order for the team to win games. We don’t know if Jordan Love can do that. That’s my only concern.
