I remember my sister in the early 90s, she was taking business secretarial course, and one of the teainings is to walk with a book or two above her head and the book must stay on her head as she walks. But of course times change and the millenials of today would never understand that their so-called hover board walk used to be the toughest walk in modeling and considered the walk of the nobles and royals.

everyone talks about how her mouth being open most of the time. I really don't think there's a problem with this. I've been told in the 60's that most contestants competing for the Miss universe were encouraged to smile BIG! as in like showing their teeth. If you noticed, she has a small mouth but with a rather unique facial bone structure - less prominent chin and jawline. I've seen other winner in the early 60's and they were all smiling like her. She was petite back then but her big smile was catchy ---in a good way. The way she responded to the question was very "American" along also with her intonation. She was graceful and you couldn't feel any pressure at all watching her. About the "fast walking" I believe it's not them. In case you haven't noticed, old films, videos etc. had that speed problem. It had something to do with the motion mechanism used to run early cameras. The tools back there were insufficient to catch the natural movement of a person. Please do your research first before you make any stupid criticism.
Gloria Diaz family spoke Spanish and English as well at home, but Spanish in her tonque most of the time because her parents has Spanish roots. Before she entering in a movie stardom she studied local language, the Tagalog. She was born and raised in Philippines but she cannot able speak local language. So far, she speak perfect in Tagalog.

Would you not at least eat, rest and get changed (clothes) before being interviewed and work right away?
Her answer is very realistic and natural. If I were from the moon for so long, the best thing I need is to have a sleep. But her answer is very convincing to think yeah I also need to have a change first, then to take a bath and to sleep. Judges back then were so witty.
This is the year where they opt not to choose the blond tall bombshell and instead go for someone who's unique, witty and still have a strong stage presence.
Her skin, her, body and her face simple but so naturally beautiful without much of a make-up. No wonder she won the coveted Miss. Universe title that year.

The day she stepped down from the airplane that brought her to the venue of the competition there was already a smell of victory because of as they say her "kilos reyna" projection which was evident when she moved. In the final q&a portion she nailed her victory by answering that "moon question" casually as if there was no question asked. She was so natural, the one judges were looking for in a winner. To those who keep on bashing her, it was just unfortunate that you were not born yet in 1969. If you could only saw her in person during her prime you will realize how worthy she was of the crown.

everyone talks about how her mouth being open most of the time. I really don't think there's a problem with this. I've been told in the 60's that most contestants competing for the Miss universe were encouraged to smile BIG! as in like showing their teeth. If you noticed, she has a small mouth but with a rather unique facial bone structure - less prominent chin and jawline. I've seen other winner in the early 60's and they were all smiling like her. She was petite back then but her big smile was catchy ---in a good way. The way she responded to the question was very "American" along also with her intonation. She was graceful and you couldn't feel any pressure at all watching her. About the "fast walking" I believe it's not them. In case you haven't noticed, old films, videos etc. had that speed problem. It had something to do with the motion mechanism used to run early cameras. The tools back there were insufficient to catch the natural movement of a person. Please do your research first before you make any stupid criticism.

Gloria Diaz family spoke Spanish and English as well at home, but Spanish in her tonque most of the time because her parents has Spanish roots. Before she entering in a movie stardom she studied local language, the Tagalog. She was born and raised in Philippines but she cannot able speak local language. So far, she speak perfect in Tagalog.

What makes Gloria winning the crown is her overflowing self confidence..
Her victory was one of the most predictable in Miss Universe selection of winners. The day she stepped down from the airplane that brought her to the venue of the competition there was already a smell of victory because of as they say her "kilos reyna" projection which was evident when she moved. In the final q&a portion she nailed her victory by answering that "moon question" casually as if there was no question asked. She was so natural, the one judges were looking for in a winner. To those who keep on bashing her, it was just unfortunate that you were not born yet in 1969. If you could only saw her in person during her prime you will realize how worthy she was of the crown.
