For those who skip due to price... My crew stayed at a hostel for $57 CANADIAN dollars for the weekend. Unlimited subway/transit pass $16 for the weekend (a souvenir no less as the pass had the heavy montreal logo on it). This will be suggested to you by the woman at the cash when she sees your Danzig shirt. Don't drink at the festival. Sounds hard but it is awesome enough you won't need too. Drinks at Foufounes Electriques (metal bar downtown) afterwards were $2 (CANADIAN!!) per beer ($8 cover). Tickets for festival can always be bought from the over eager on kijijji. And basically you will see about 6 sets minimum that are life altering. Not to mention the amount of cool people you meet. AND the poutine. Check out La Belle Province after the bar for your best late night junk food feast. Start planning now.
I was only a couple hundred miles away in Maine. I wanted to go soooo bad but the ticket price/hotel/travel fees was just too much. If it were just me I would have done it, but there was also my wife and nephew who would have had to have gone. I will NEVER get a chance to see a line up like that again :( .....Damn life lol!
+metaleer1979x I did the 12 hour drive from Halifax...well worth it...not much of a drinker so I would say $800 was my expenses including 2 T-shirts and a souvenir cup. Tickets alone for the 3 days: $240...saw 35 bands so it worked out to $7/band
adjharry Awesome! I was there as well. I live on the other side of the grocery store right next to the Waterfront in Bangor so I could just hop skip and jump and I was there. I got to do a meet and greet with Mastodon which made my day for sure!
