      Dennis: How exciting you are getting a new Jeep!!! When you are ready to hit some trails let me know and I can share some locations on Gaia GPS. You will need to get that app! Are you planning to overland and camp? Thanks again for watching! I have a new video coming out tonight and I go to Allegheny National Forest for the first time! I really enjoyed it! Cold camping and overlanding!

    9:36 I absolutely love the sound of coyote's (or maybe a wolf) howling in the forest at night. I have heard that in the Allegheny National Forest while camping many times.

      I am heading to Allegheny Forest soon!! Any secluded camp sites you are familiar with?

    • @JM-nh8ld
      @JM-nh8ld 3 года назад

      Not a wolf, Ohio grassman perhaps but alas it was a coyote. If heading for Allegheny, remember ..black bear country. Do not have garbage or food in your tent or out. You will end up with a bear or two in camp.

      Get out there! I use Gaia GPS to help me overland because most of these areas have no cell. So that Gaia app on phone or tablet can help you find trails and your way home.

    Good to hear from you again. Sorry for your loss. I will be heading for Tar Hollow in a couple of weeks with my dog Shorty. He keeps the coyotes away and any other intruders. Have fun in Pa., I grew up in NW Pa. long before overlanding was a "thing". I'm sure you will find some great roads and trails to explore. Just remember, black bears are a huge pain in the neck in that area, so be "bear aware" with food and toiletries like toothpaste etc. Use a bear can or bear bag. Have fun!!

    • @rubiconmatt
      @rubiconmatt  3 года назад

      Jim: Thanks for the reminder about the bears!!! I would not of thought of that, now I need to prep for sure and make sure I have all the right stuff and this will change how I cook as well. Enjoy Tar Hollow!!

    • @rubiconmatt
      @rubiconmatt  3 года назад

      Jim: Dumb question, in the winter are the black bears gone due to them hibernating? So best to go in winter if you don't want to worry about bears. :-)

      Chris - Go to Wayne National Forest official website and look at what they say for dispersed camping in Wayne NF. That should give you insight. Hope that helps! Have fun overlanding and camping! Do you use a roof-top-tent or a ground tent?

      MEET UP POSTPONED DUE TO FIRE/FLAME BAND!!! Please try to get refunded. I spoke to the Burr Oak Park Ranger today and he said ALL (Anything) that has a flame (jet boil, lighter, stove, propane anything, anything that creates a flame/spark, etc.) is band right now due to the drought. This band he told me is in effect until we get at least five inches of rain. So with that much rain needed (which I do not see coming), I spoke to a couple other folks signed up and we all agreed, we should postpone until we get the green light, then schedule something. I like cold weather camping anyways! I am sure sorry this did not work out, but we will put something on the calendars once the band is lifted. Please confirm back you got this in the comment section. God bless and stay strong in the Lord!
