- Once again Jonny faces his most hated engine...the BMW N62. This time it's the "updated" N62TU with a leaking gasket in the alternator bracket.
Jon installs lowering springs on a 535i
The care he shows to other people's property is awesome. He shows that he has a passion for what he does, it's not just a job.
Much respect to the ninja..he let the customer know the tow guys treated the car like they didn't know what they're doing or didn't care about what they are doing and to avoid using that tow company
Right on Car Ninja, finally a creator that does not crank up his intro music to deafening levels. Thank You
oil leak from an alternator bracket... Seriously? Only on a BMW
I'm a gen x, and I was brought up to have respect for other people, and their thing's. The best job I ever had was running a very buisy cemetery. I hired people who cared, or they were gone. I met and buried a lot of people who lost a spouse, or a child, and they were sad when I got in a bad accident. One mother visited her son everyday in one of the mausoleums, and in the winter I made sure the road was plowed first thing, and that it was salted and she had a clear path in, because she was older, been visiting for year's. Treat people with respect, and tearing their stuff up is ignorant, and lazy. Ninja is a good mechanic, and leaves the car running, and looking good when it leaves, no dirt and grease all over it. God bless y'all.
Car ninja buying Chinese timing tools is very troubling.
Can’t weld the bracket so it never leaks again?
For the Car Ninja to get mad and shout at someone then ban them from his shop... he must have been disgusted by them.
This man truly loves his craft, the level of care he places into his work in not so easy to come by nowadays.
Here's a good tip - google the towing company you're about to hire. Don't just blindly pick the first company from the search list or the one that shows up first after an accident.
I once witnessed an angry agressive tow truck driver destroy the back panel of a freshly painted '67 Mustang with his tow chain, then threaten to beat up the customer when they complained. It's an industry full of low intellect knuckleheads, so when you do find a good one it is worth sticking with them.
This channel should be compulsory viewing for all aspiring mechanics. Competence, dedication and pride of workmanship. Oh so rare commodities.... a joy to watch.
Two things, first I like that you don't stick up for BMW's design flaws you call them out and say that the engine sucks. Second if the car had went to the dealer you know they wouldn't even try to fix the switch just grab the $200 new switch off the parts shelf and replace it. You did what a good mechanic should do. Great videos.
I am constantly amazed at how many techs don't try and limit their exposure to solvents and oil/grimy gunk. Many of them will regret it when they get older. It may cost you an hour or 2 a week but wear the proper gloves when you're washing parts. Try not to shower things with brake kleen. Use a wire brush and a rag instead of getting out your disc sander to clean surfaces and putting that shit into the air. Do it for your family and kids if you don't care about it for yourself.
The Car Ninja going that extra mile on the turn signal stock and getting it fixed. Right on!
When towing a car into a shop ask the shop owner who they use, it’s much easier that way.
Hello Sir & Gentlemen: I must say you guys are so professional that your shop is run like a hospital & not a garage. I've been working on cars for 59 years & I must say your caring, & attention to detail is uncanny to say the least. I love how all the techs are not under the gun to make time but get the job done right the first time & no short cuts. My 2 shops were run that way but smaller buildings. What a terrific place to work, TMP from N.J.
Thanks for the advice on towing. My worst nightmare. Specially parking enforcers
Call Tyler he knows all the good tow truck drivers in your area, much respect Ninja, Rj in Oz
Every time I see that NINJA using the parts washer without gloves my hands and fingers begin tingling.
