Looking for Cool Garbage in Korea and Japan

- Last month, I took a trip to Korea and Japan. Here are the tales of a few things we saw and a few pieces of crafting trash I was able to squirrel away into my luggage. In truth, I didn't get nearly as much garbage as I hoped I would. Our schedule was fast, jam-packed, and didn't include enough dumpster diving. My sincerest apologies for not spending more time in a trash can for you.
And a HUGE thanks to all the support from everyone on Patreon!

Imagine being the TSA officer doing random luggage checks only to find out that it's filled with unexplainable amount of plastics and trash 😂
Exactly what I thought!!!
But instead of “regular” garbage it’s beautifully designed and colorful garbage 🙂 I bet it looked pretty in your suitcase, especially with all those colored plastic balls!
I used to take bunch of rocks with me from the seaside places. The foreign side inspection wasn't fond of it, they never are really since they always find the reason to hold you up and yell at you (political bias) while the home side inspection always let me though with zero questions.
Usually one big bag of rocks that go into the trunk of the car. Years later I realized that I have "at home" same type of rocks just two towns over and these types of rocks have nothing to do with a seaside, they are not that unique, then a year later someone pointed me to an area which is maybe an hour drive from my home outside of the town that have same even better rocks, however it's illegal to excavate big amounts and if a military or police patrol catch you it can be nasty. So always took half a trunk if even that much at random times ...
Never hoarded again these during my sea trips ever again or when I left my country.
"sir, what's with all this garbage" *pokes a toothpaste cap*
"It's beautiful 🥺"
LOL I had the same thought hahaha
"I went to Korea and Japan and only collected garbage"
My spouse: "how does it feel to be living my dream"
I literally can’t think of a better reason to go to another country
The images of South Korea, a developing country, and Japan, a developed country, are very wonderful.
A popular place in Korea is a straw house. It has been around for 300 years and is still inhabited by many people.
I’d do the exact same thing as him. I have done in the past, when I travelled. I’ve got a suitcase full of cool little things I’ve collected over the years. I’ve never thought to do anything with them, but this is inspiring me 😂😂
Your partner’s “nah he deserves it” about Totoro in jail had me ROLLING
the fact that they don't know (or can't say) what he did, but they know he deserves to be imprisoned 💀
@@starophie he knows what he did, and that’s the important part 😆😆😆
@@morganw.4711 Good Point! I thought she was going to say he stole my heart ♥ but your response was better
The "Die. Die" to the little bear also cracked me up. 😂
@@scottywan82 It's actually morbid. But then again this is Japan, they were sadist nazis after all ... looks like the mentality creeps back even at modern day times. And to you this being funny tells a lot about you too, you are not a bright one either ...
this garbage collecting process was surprisingly satisfying to watch!
Dude it's been out for 22 seconds
Edit: I'm dumb, sorry!

My perspective of everyday items/containers/trash is forever changed.
Showing a gachapon store and then revealing only the capsules themselves is surprisingly subversive
People when they are in other countries: I wanna see the sights
Studson: I wanna see the garbage
Take me to your finest landfill please.
Hearing about your trip through the lens of the fun trash you collected was a super fun way to experience it!!
I'm so glad you closed your eyes for the sights. No distractions!
I love that Bill went out of his way to hide your face in his video, and then you just show it here without any bells or whistles.
I noticed that too. No shyness where there is trash to be collected.
He fully showed his face in his first video
Your gentle but sarcastic personality mixes so well with your partner's chaotic energy. I love it!!!
What a fun idea for a video! Hope you both had a fun trip!
Ebae says hi :)
@@StudsonStudio hey Studson, can't wait to see what's being built man! Also, wanted to ask if you've seen The Great King Bowser boss on Yoshi's Crafted World? I see a lot of possible similar shapes via your haul!
My second favorite part of this video (after the TOTK teaser) was realizing Studson and I have the same gray shirt from Target. He’s a man of fine taste.
This is amazing! I hope you had a great time. Thank you for sharing!
Ah... the old "keep mindful of the luggage space" dilemma as you adventure your way through 2 countries collecting your souvenirs. At least you were able to cut some of the souvenirs down a bit without feeling like you might have ruined them. Also... thanks for showing some of the "not necessarily for tourist" things. Those are the places I like to seek out when we travel.
I lived in Japan(Yokosuka)when I was in 1st and 2nd grade and honestly even though I only lived there for 2 years it feels more like home than America ever has. Idk how to explain it but I get homesick whenever I think of my life there. I plan on moving to Japan or at least visiting often when I get older. If you ever need a cool place to visit Japan is that place!
Powerful Natsukashii feelings!
@@oldskooljules ya that’s actually a great word for it

Thanks for the fun video, and a great roadmap of where to find various bits of plastic. Much love !!!
That looked like a fun trip! I was in Japan in 2017 and it's one of my alltime favorite places I've visisted outside of where I live.
Such a fun way to do a travel blog! You’re both hilarious and the dramatic murdering of Rilakkuma was peak content 😔👏
I mean, honestly? You could literally just make whatever content you wanted as long as you keep doing the voice over bit. It's always pure magic
Your wife is so pretty!! Korea and Japan are two places on my travel bucket list. I’m happy you had such a good time.
Best video that isn’t at all a business expense write off I’ve seen, why someone would think that, or, was going to think that, I don’t-
You two murdering the desert bears is my favourite part of this video, aside from all the great garbage you've found
that was the chillest face reveal I have ever seen... you have such talent, keep it up!!
👌👌When the trash gets *international* 🤌🤌
mecca of mecha is phrase of the month, for sure! glad you had fun! this was a great look into pro garbage collecting
I will watch more travel videos from this channel. Thanks.
Japan and Korea sure do love their artistic plastic. Quite the treasure trove for this channel.
During vacation, instead of buying souvenirs at shops, i collect cool containers, packaging, tickets to the places i went, etc. I feel it triggers memories better than a random mug from the airport
I love how you view the world by looking at ordinary objects to most people and viewing them as unique parts for projects. You started to make me look at the world like this and its now started me keeping trash cause I know I can use them somehow. I also get to thinking how can I gift studson some of the unique trash I find cause I know he will enjoy it.
this video was really awesome!!! i find your way of speaking and casual humor to be very engaging, even when it's not on a crafting specific video. im glad you and your partner had such a good time and you got some lovely trash goodies too :]
really enjoy that the first time i saw your face was in cat ears and paws. really cute video, i hope you two had a great time!
Japanese packaging and food shapes are just so precious! I miss being able to shop in Asian markets in the Boston area. There's nothing at all here in mid-coast Maine, sadly.
So glad you got to visit. Looks like an awesome trip, and some awesome trash. Looking forward to your further adventures in attaching the trash into larger, not-at-all-trashy structures and creatures.
Lol, I’m not sure what it means about my sense of humour that I laughed at the drowning bear treat!!!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
so wholesome 😭i love you both!! keep collecting garbage like a goblin
Can’t wait for the TOTK build!!
Collecting cool pieces of trash is such a vibe for some reason
This is one great video that is extremely tax-write-off-able! Y'all are adorable :3
Love how you are putting out new video concepts for us. I know your main content is garbage builds but I also know those must take very long time. So these vids are very fun too.
Now I want to see more travel vlogs like this!
"I'm working on a Zelda video"
HUGE W!
... but in the end, every single one of your projects is a huge W sooo-
Face!
Glad you had a fun trip, I love travel videos. And the mix of your comedy style is just delightful ✈
Not the shutline poster- ✋💀
I've been living in Korea for the last 2 years and it's so fun to see all the bottles and things that are just that bit different from the states. Also recently visited Japan and made the Gundam pilgrimage. Looking forward to see what these things end up in!
I would watch Studson Studio vlogs for hours
I love that you gazed lovingly up at the Odaiba Gundam Butt!
A Korean subscriber is here!!!
I'm glad to hear that you visited Korea! Hope you enjoyed the trip 🥹
Best travel video I've seen! 😉😁 Can't wait to see what you build out of all your souvenirs!
… i had my eyes closed alpng all rhe nice buildings and sceneries…😂😂😂😂 love the commentary.
Keep the priorities strait.
“Shawarma!”
You two are adorable! Glad you had fun.
I like the way you experience other places. When I travel, most of my souvenirs are cool rocks to use in fairy gardens. I’’d love to see a fairy tale inspired build sometime! Can’t wait to see your zelda build
I used to live in Korea and have been to Japan a few times to visit. They are such fun places to explore! Glad you got some interesting bits to use in your builds. I look forward to your next creation!
Thank you for sharing some of your trip with us! What fun! I can't wait to go travel like that someday!
Omggg! This is sooo amazing that u just find junk and turn it into artwork! You should make one of the Stewart Constructs!
Honestly, I'm here for the sense of humor. That was great!
"I'm working on a Zelda video"
❤❤❤ You sure know how to keep ya fanbois happy.
Really enjoying watching you collect trash 😃 and the mental image of you bringing a luggage full of trash home makes me giddy.
Studson vlogs are the best vlogs!
This was fun. Seeing the cool junk collection was fun. Excited for whats next.
This was so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
This make me happy
Just yesterday I was telling my mom about your channel and how good it is. Because she makes crafts sometimes.
you two are such dorks and I absolutely adore it
Incredible. One of your best videos to date.
My dream trip! Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it
2:02 man found a tiny stand arrow lmao
looks so beautiful can't wait to see what you build 😺😻
What a amazing trip!! Glad u had fun!
I simply adore little tour videos like this, and it looks like you both had so much fun! and such a nice mix of trash bits for the bit box! : D
Loved this so much! Hope you and your partner had a fun trip!
The best craft hunt ever!!
Thanks for taking us a long on your trip. That was very cool. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🌻🌻🌻
Had I known you were coming to Japan I would have given you lots of pretty plastics I collected for projects that I have never realized. Haha! Glad you enjoyed it here!
I can’t handle the billboard of a YAOI. WHAT. WHAT. WHAT. 4:22
4:21 THATS WAS A JUMSCARE I WASNT PREPARED FOR
I would love to see you build something from the souls series. Specifically dark souls 1. There are so many cool locales that I think you’d have a lot of fun weathering up:)
Your videos always make my day ten times better! Thank you for that :D
this is so fun I love that you did this, hope the vacation was fun
Always love your videos dude
This was delightful, and I am so excited for when you decide to do a totk build! Hope you enjoyed your garbage collecting
Amazing Vlog looked like a great trip! Thanks for sharing!
Ah I've just come back from 2,5 months in Korea and 2,5 weeks in Japan! This video makes me wish I had taken home some more colourful trash - but I love how you summed up my feelings about the Incheon Fairytale Village :D
I inspire to be as cool as this man. This is my life goal. I love this
The waving air man at the end 🥺 why so cute
How fun. What a nice trip. I've been to Osaka, beautiful place.
It was nice seeing you finally. Both really since your partners humor is often included in your videos as well. My husband's first words when the credits finished were "Awww OMG, how cute" thought I'd share since we watch you from my account.
Can't wait for your next one.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Make The Great Sky Island using trash or something I don't know.
This is A grade Studson content.
I can't wait for the inevitable reveal that one of the pieces of trash is such a good component to start making friend with people in Korea and Japan just to have them send you more. (Unless you already made those trash market connections off camera)
Wholesome and cute! Loved this a little more personal but very studson-esque vignette
After watching literally every upload in this channel, I've learned how to love trash.
i got the coolest white plastic takeout container from a food cart in NYC a few years ago, but i kept it for a container, not for materials
This was such a cute video (and also very interesting, other countries really do have unique trash to reuse and recycle!). One thing I look forward to when I go overseas is spotting the differences between packaging. Also the food. I really cannot wait to try the food.
Wow I'm your Korean fan! It's a new way of traveling. It was fun to watch. I hope you had a good time in Korea!
Hmm, the new Spider Man into the Clam movie looks like a good one!
That name sounds more like an... um... adult version of the story, if you know what I mean...
Um…anyways…
This was such a great idea, loved it
This is the BEST travel vlog I have ever encountered
Nice to See you enjoying quality time❤ from germany
Seeing a SHUTLINE poster was such a whiplash , didn't think id see it on youtube 😅
I didn’t expect the Shutline cameo and almost dropped my pasta salad -
You should make the yellow submarine, from the movie. I would love to see that.
I’m glad someone else has noticed all the random Spider-Men across Osaka! I visit Osaka all the time and I have a growing collection of photos of random Spider-Men I’ve found throughout the city! 😂
What a fun video! Can’t wait to see what you do with your international garbage loot!
Congrats on one mil!!! 🎉
