In regards to throne of blood, it wasn’t actually that the guy just miss timed the blood spray. They accidentally set the pressure on the mechanism too high which is what caused the delay and such a large exaggerated spray
The Hokuto no Ken series is something I hold near and dear to my very soul! I was a fan of it as a young teenager. However, it became sentimental when I shared it with pops, may he rest in peace. I remember it like yesterday. Before he passed on, as his caregiver, I asked "Yo dad. You like action flicks, right?" He said "Yeah?" Then I queried "You like martial arts movies?" He answered like he did previously. Then I asked "You like watching movies where people blow up?" Then he said "Yeah boy!" Then I introduced him to the television series that was airing on cable. Also told him that the main character's name was Ken (I got my name from my pops). Lastly he told me "Well, put that shit on, boy." Still one of my favorite intellectual properties of all time.
2:00 now i would love for them to revisit one or another wiki weekend about anime, and just have karl and lucas waving the manga about and putting their own sound clips in for footage and cutaways XD
I remember a moment where I was discussing an light novel series that became an anime series, online and I have read all the books and when the first season ended someone asked me to spoil the series for them because they had their exams coming up and couldn’t wait to go out and buy the books to find out what happened. So I just wrote a paragraph and a half of just the twists in the story and the person replied- “ you had me at the first half, nice joke.”. So I’ve been imagining that in a few years when either the anime gets finished or they read the book that person is gonna have a sword slice moment when they realize I told them the truth!
The Miyazaki quote is actually about an AI animation he was shown, not anime as a genre. Kenshiro gets a reference in Gravity Falls, with Dipper getting BIG pummeled by a fighting game character.
Not a technique but the martial arts practiced by Kenshiro's brother Toki is translated as The humane face breaking fist And i love the idea that ,yes he will break your face but he will do it humanely
7:08 JoJo was originally inspired by Fist of the North Star. Like, compare Jonathan to Kenshiro and you'll see. Plus it has so many attacks referred to stand barrage which is basically the kenshiro attack rush Sorry didn't get far enough into the video to know you referenced it
Heaven scorching light of destruction- ultra necrosma pokemon Enuma elish -(star of creation that split heaven and earth) Gilgamesh fate series The angel that announces death- king Hassan fate Xiuhcoatl - flames that burn even gods to ash -Quetzalcoatl fate Ultimo tope Patada - the comet that killed earth- Quetzalcoatl fate (she literally becomes the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs when she uses it)
Beast Wars would always get me hyped! From the intro, to the transforming, to the combat, I just loved that show all around. Predacons, terrorize! Maximals, maximize! Dinobot the GOAT, Waspinator best bot.
Thanks for this. I'm planning to finally either read Pluto, or watch the new anime, so that be a call back to the 1st anime. Everything I've ever heard about Kenshiro sounds inane.
Anime is 64 year old starting with the mighty Adam, actually is 100+ with the first coming out in 1919 or so with an unnamed anime about samurai whose sword couldn't cut people. Both a shonen anime.
I will always love kenshiro. It has a huge cult following here in italy, because it was one of the first "adult" anime shown, and the italian opening song has become LEGENDARY. even if you don't get the words, give it a listen, it's so good.
On the subject of amazing technique names from Bruce Lee inspired characters: Rock Lee and Might Guy have both the great and silly technique names covered. Obviously there’s the classics like: Leaf Hurricane Hidden Lotus There’s Dynamic Entry: which is just Guy dropkicking someone at the start of his battle, announcing his attack to give away the element of surprise, because he knows he doesn’t need it. And then there’s the series of techniques that Guy has based on increasingly dangerous animals, the most dangerous of which is of course himself: Morning Peacock Daytime Tiger Evening Elephant and Night Guy
One thing I like about that bit in the One Piece live action is Zoro's Fight with Mihawk, where he calls out his finishing move, and shortly after losing Zoro also starts calling his special moves too
Since you brought up Tommy, I gotta add another Power Rangers classic from further down the line. Chad Lee, Lightspeed Rescue Blue, also has a very iconic attack cry, going more of an "aAAH" or an "aaahcha"
In the finale of gravity falls Soos kind of just shows up and hes dressed a bit apocalyptic. He just says to everyone "i guess there are folk songs about me now?" I'd like to think he was just going around the wasteland exploding people.
Also. Im just suggesting this (but I understand if you don't do it. Its y'alls channel, y'alls choice of course) But Idk how it would work, but a wiki that somehow showed of Karls Media Knowledge would be really interesting. It always seemed to start great tangents on Fact Fiend vids.
Well this just made me realize an interesting reference to first of the North Star. Gravity falls 😂 Dipper is called such bc he has the Dipper shaped birth mark on his forehead
I think one of my fvaorites is Harley in Injustice. She literally sicks her trained Hyenas on you and the knocks you tf out with a baseball bat. All whmhile laughing and talking shit lol. Love Harley man. Fantastic Character. Especially in those games
so Zoro's move are cool, but ive got to give props to Sanji who screams out where he is going to kick people, but since he so fairly fighting any other cheifs of Franch people, no one dodges.
In regards to throne of blood, it wasn’t actually that the guy just miss timed the blood spray. They accidentally set the pressure on the mechanism too high which is what caused the delay and such a large exaggerated spray
Pretty sure they covered that in a previous video
@@BaldiesAnonymousthey have
Karl has previously explained and said this multiple times before, especially in Fact Fiend videos.
It wasn't throne of blood it was sanjiro

One of my favourite "battle cries" is in gurren lagann, when they scream the final move "giga drill breaker" and their voice skyrockets into orbit
The "Punch a guy in the throat" technique is actually pretty useful in a lot of situations.
🎶best protect ya neck🎶
It has saved us from many a bad alpha male podcast.
So true! I used it on my teacher when she wanted to give detention

What series was it? Now we need the details😂
@@ezekielburchell it was I’m in love with the villainess or in some countries it’s I fancy the villainess
@@Iceleopard45 nice I’ll check it out.

“CLOTHES BEAM!”

WAIT A SECOND!! Boobobo was indirectly inspired by mad Max???
Heaven scorching light of destruction- ultra necrosma pokemon
Enuma elish -(star of creation that split heaven and earth) Gilgamesh fate series
The angel that announces death- king Hassan fate
Xiuhcoatl - flames that burn even gods to ash -Quetzalcoatl fate

I always loved the sound the spin dash makes in "Sonic the Hedgehog 2".
Thanks for this.

Everything I've ever heard about Kenshiro sounds inane.
The way Itchigo's Japanese voice actor specifically says "Bank...kai" is just amazing every time.

Favorite battlecry would have to go out to Metal Gear Solid 4's Old Snake screaming ***SUNLIGHT***
One thing I like about that bit in the One Piece live action is Zoro's Fight with Mihawk, where he calls out his finishing move, and shortly after losing Zoro also starts calling his special moves too
Marth's 'TWAH!' is always in my head
"Normal consecutive punches!"
My favorite battlecry is from "The Tick" TV show. "SPOOOOOOOOOON" truly strikes fear.
Since you brought up Tommy, I gotta add another Power Rangers classic from further down the line. Chad Lee, Lightspeed Rescue Blue, also has a very iconic attack cry, going more of an "aAAH" or an "aaahcha"
I could hear duel of the fates in the distance as they duel in anime attack names😂
My favorite battle cry has got to be "GIGA DRILL BREAKER" from Gurren Lagann
Favorite war/battle cry has got to be “FOR THE REPUBLIC!!!!”
Now we need deathbattle(or similar anime/cartoon fights) or someone animate the attacks clashing
In the finale of gravity falls Soos kind of just shows up and hes dressed a bit apocalyptic. He just says to everyone "i guess there are folk songs about me now?" I'd like to think he was just going around the wasteland exploding people.
Favorite battle cry?
SPOOOOOOOOOON!!!

To be fair, a throat punch to stop breathing isn't that secret of an attack
Well this just made me realize an interesting reference to first of the North Star. Gravity falls 😂 Dipper is called such bc he has the Dipper shaped birth mark on his forehead
How about all the crazy attack names that Yu-gi-oh added all their normal card attacks?
I think one of my fvaorites is Harley in Injustice. She literally sicks her trained Hyenas on you and the knocks you tf out with a baseball bat. All whmhile laughing and talking shit lol. Love Harley man. Fantastic Character. Especially in those games
How was Rock Lee not talked about when talking about characters inspired by Bruce Lee lol
It's Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) -- how can I not click to watch?!
One of my personal favourites is Master Betty's "NYEAEAEAEAEAEEAH"
That movie is so good.
If you can get an original copy of the VHS of Manga's fist of The North Star... You're a lucky sod 😥 as mine was stolen years ago
so Zoro's move are cool, but ive got to give props to Sanji who screams out where he is going to kick people, but since he so fairly fighting any other cheifs of Franch people, no one dodges.
Hokuto Shin Ken= Big dipper God fist
Fist of the North Star getting a remake
As an "Ancient " gamer and consumer of anime. I would be remiss in not recommending Crying Freeman
Crippling Depression Wave.😂
I mean, if Kurosawa says it's a cool movie effect, who the fuck are we to say it's not?
Another contender for really good technique names is rurouni kenshin, but the Creator is no good.
