@@presence5426 Thanks for the well reasoned reply. I agree that Trump fans aren’t likely to be swayed by logical discussions. I’m trying to think of a means to speak to Trump fans the way Trump would without being disingenuous and as unsavory as Trump. Probably the best way to deal with Trumpism is to figure out how to talk to politically disengaged voters in a way which will convince them to participate. Creating a more perfect Union is an ongoing endeavor, which can not be accomplished with retaliation, pay back, revenge, or hypocrisy, it requires an effort to work together, understand, and compromise for the good of the nation and it's citizens.
Both parties need to be willing to work together! It's the job of Congress to keep the government open and working. The 2 parties aren't enemies, they are 2 wings of the same bird the need to work together so the bird doesn't spiral down to death. Get this bird flying and prepared for our future. "There are circumstances where people are not necessarily evil; they're just wrong." True the vast majority of the time when dealing conservative people irl. A lot of people don't even know why they believe what they do. When people can sort that out either on their own or through good faith, non argumentative conversations, that's where real productivity and progress happens. I've gotten so much better at talking politics with my dad in recent years, even though he's conservative. I think he's able to better understand me too, more receptive. And it goes both ways; I'm probably not 100% right on everything either. I'll never be conservative though haha, and my dad probably will never be liberal either. "Differ we must" I suppose..

In his conversation David mentioned that some people think of Jews as subhuman. While I had to fight my way out of the prejudice I was taught against African Americans I never had that problem about Jews. When I was young I was not aware that anyone who is a Jew actually was in any way different. I still don't see any of them to be anything other than just another person. I'm not sure that I want to know how they are supposedly different. Maybe someone could explain to me that supposedly intelligent beings can think of Jews as any sort of lesser human.
I hope I said that so that it's understood as I meant it, but in case I missed it above another way is:
Jews are people period. Anyone who thinks they are lesser are themselves idiots.

I’m a huge liberal and listen to NPR all the time and I don’t care for Netanyahu. In my opinion, Inskeep’s interview with Bibi was so adversarial as to waste the entire opportunity for information.

He's a child, you're surprised he hung up when you asked a question about something that he knows is a lie... Really?
