There are obviously days when I cry and miss him but he seems like a distant person to me now. After meeting the boy that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with on a sailing trip and him not only living halfway across the world but also having a girlfriend I needed to find the strength to live AGAIN. I loved him desperately and he didn’t even try to treat me any better. He was severely emotionally detrimental. I will always love him, but I can’t be with him. I know it’s for the better.
I tend to accept people way too easily.
No matter how broken they are, I'll always feel some kind of sympathy. No matter how hard I try to push it down. Even the most horrible people. I think, what if your life were different? What if the world was different?
Could you have been more? A better person?
No matter how emotional or mentally ill someone is, I remind them they are human. And that it isn't their fault. That I still love them. I still care. I still see you as a person.
And to have only one person say that to me my whole life, I thank him for that. My best friend (platonic), who may not see me as his best friend. But he sees someone else as his.
That's okay.
And maybe one day I can accept myself like I accept others. And as he accepts me.
Maybe someone will fall in love with me someday, and all those superficial crushes I had will pass me by. Maybe they will become more. Maybe they will stop turning out so horribly.
Perhaps somewhere in my swirling mind is a girl trying to dig herself free. With hopes and dreams and a want to show herself. She never gives up.

My dad passed away on New Years of 2022. We were all at the hospital in the waiting room when we got the news that he was gonna go. That completely devastated me and shattered me to pieces. People would tell me that it is for the better than him to suffer in pain more. It gave me 2nd thoughts about how it could be for the better. RIP Dad
