    Our planet is amazing, there isn't one color in the spectrum that isn't used by some birds. They cover all colors possible and yet are all beautifully straight male or female. No psychological pathological behavior among birds about their roles.

    It's just so amazing seeing all these gorgeous birds (shout out to those green honeycreepers, stunning how different, but brilliantly coloured both the male and females are). I'm also amazed how civilised they all are, I mean considering the number of species and the number of birds, there's very little squabbling.

      I'm very happy that you enjoyed the video.
      I think birds are like many other animals in that they understand why there is no need to spend energy fighting for something that is readily abundant. Fascinatingly, no animal has ever warred over its most important and immediate need, oxygen.
      The solution to world peace is in there somewhere.

    It makes me wonder if the birds in Ontario in the summer would eat banana. I am wondering this because a lot of these birds are seed or insect eaters. Guess I’ll find out this summer. I also wish I knew the name of these birds because some look familiar to Ontario birds. I think this is the most birds I’ve ever seen at a bird feeder.

    • @GringoCurt
      @GringoCurt  4 года назад

      If you are getting bugs then the birds are obviously not eating it quickly enough. You might not be offering their preferred fruits. Banana plants grow plentiful here. I recommend offering something that they would most commonly find in your natural environment. Birds feel most comfortable if they have lots of get away options. Because of this having a feeder high above the ground will be the most effective. Spread the food out as much as possible. This will help prevent big birds from chasing off small birds. Much like in humanity, if the resources are easily accessible and available their will be no warring.

    One thing that we learn about this is that the other animals don't fight between them when there's enough food for everyone, like we humans do. With the exceptions of one ow two individuals.

    • @victuz
      @victuz 4 года назад

      @Ebola Monsta I mean just pure survival.
      All what the other animals are doing is surviving by not starving, but they won't attack each other if there's food (which means much for them) for everyone.
      Not our case, we fight each other over resources, even if there's plenty of resources for everyone. Redundant.

    I've tried feeding my birds fruit and it just goes to waste and attracts ants by the thousands. Funny, I don't see any ants here. Maybe the birds around here just aren't used to seeing fruit as it doesn't normally grow here, (bananas, grapes, papaya, etc..) I've tried raisins, grapes, blueberries, etc...but any nut in sight will be devoured almost before I get back to the house.

    I tried to give my Baltimore orioles Bananas but they just ignored them for grape jelly and oranges. I wonder if they would go for mango.

    • @GringoCurt
      @GringoCurt  5 лет назад +1

      That's really interesting about the grape jelly. I wouldn't have thought of trying it. I have put out mangoes on many occasions without success. As for not getting your orioles to eat bananas, it took a few years of feeding other birds bananas before I started getting the orioles. bananas are not naturally from Costa Rica so technically all the birds here had to learn that they like them. The scarlet macaws here do not know it but they love papaya, even though they do grow here naturally. I've been to an avian rehab and witnessed a macaw that wouldn't even try it for hours.. once he did then he tore it up.. he acted like he hadn't eaten for weeks even thought he was eating almonds not long prior. he was literally panting after he finished eating what we put out for him.. bananas here are really cheap. i put out between 50-100 bananas per day so cost was definitely a big decision maker for me. Thanks for commenting and I'm glad that you enjoyed the video.
