Yorkie is an English candy bar. Their motto used to be "It's Not For Girls"

I was a mess when I first watched this episode. I dont think anything has ever connected to me as much as this episode. I'm a bisexual female and when I watched this I knew deep down that I was but I was not ready to admit it to myself and definitely not to anyone else. This episode was essential to me coming out. Without It's possible I would still be closeted. Nothing has ever made me feel this understood and I am so happy that people especially young people now have things like this and love Simon to help them feel understood in an unexcepting world

I have never noticed Yorkie flinching at the car crash on the tv. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll have to watch for that in my next watching.

I've seen this one twice, and tears both times. That line "make this easy for me" also really stuck with me and bore it's way into me in a way I didn't/don't quite understand. The way you explained it was really good though :)

So happy you are FINALLY seeing San Junipero! Its probably THE BEST episode of Black Mirror to date. Such a welcome breath of joyous optimism out of Black Mirror! Sad the tone of the ending was ruined for you cause discovering this gem in the middle of Black Mirrors run was great, makes you bawl like a baby! So deserving of the awards it garnered. Cheers!

This episode was beautiful. My favorite episode in the entire series. I was relieved to have an episode with a mostly happy ending. This is the first thing I saw Gugu Mbatha-Raw in and it made me a fan.

I agree. This is one of my favourites, having lost someone close and wanting to see them again other than in my dreams. And I think it rightly deserved to win the Emmy for TV Movie of the Year. I take issue with your comment about the music at the Quagmire though - that was The Pixies, one of my favourite bands ever.

It's not often you can say the happiest episode of a series is the one where the two lead characters die, but this is the case here. The ending where you see them symbolically plugged in right next to each other in the server farm, and then you see the masses of blinking LEDs of the thousands of other residents, as well as the choice of ending music, it really is one of the perfect episodes.

I managed to hold the tears troughout the entire episode, bug the moment the fists chords of "Heaven is a place on Earth" started, I just lost it...

This is one of my personal faves. For quite a few different reasons. The nostalgia factor - yes. But also having been in nothing but unconventional pairings I know what it's like to leap head first into love that's still considered out of the norm.

What an absolute awesome review. You said at one point 'I don't know how to articulate this' but you did amazingly well and even put into words what I never could if I had thought about it for months.

Being a long term care nurse this episode really hit me. My mom and I actually had a bit of a debate about the ending because she saw it as a nightmare. She believes that death is a new life spent with the heavenly father and as a result deciding to live in San Junipero is like living in a fancy version of hell. I loved the idea of a way for someone who more or less had her life taken away by an accident to be able to live again, to move around and interact with people. It reminded me a bit of some of my residents at work with dementia, where they don't see themselves as 80 somethings but who they were in their 20s and 30s. Of course I then thought of the ramifications of this technology if used with someone who is already confused and how that would impact that.

I know I'm not really adding anything to the convo, but I loved this one so much. As someone who has experienced a lot of death fairly young, and now have found my first love, I cried.

I don't see how uploading a copy of your consciousness helps you. You are your brain. You could experience San Junipero as long as your body and brain are still alive. When you die your brain dies. The copy may live on but to what purpose? It isn't you. That said the depiction of the beginnings of romance was truly wonderful. Yorky's wonderful shy longings and Kelly's extrovertedness were remarkably well done and complimented each other effectively. The woman who played older Kelly was cute and endearing. Even Greg's small role grounding, in reality, was honest and hopeful that in the future there are still good kind-hearted people in the world. All and all the writing, casting and acting all came together well in this one.

What are your thoughts of Kellie doing a complete 180 and deciding to go to San junipero, or how they became so close in the timespan that is less than a day.
