    The HDS 200 is my go to, when my JPRO is on the charge. It is an awesome tool!

    It's basically a HD truck code reader, same as the launch CR-HD, don't know the cost on this Bosch unit but the Launch can be had for around $399. Neither will do any service procedures, regens or calibrations, just read and clear codes. These are great for just being able to read codes to see if it's a simple sensor issue or if it needs further diag with oem software. Good review of the units functionality and what it will or won't do.

    That is a cool tool Clay. When you were pulling the codes, i was like "THAT is why we don't work on big trucks", they are in a world of their own, tools & diagnostic equipment. But, MAN I love those trucks, did you hear that sound when you started it?? THAT'S A TRUCK!!

      @KoonTrucking  6 лет назад +1

      Haha I had rather work on big stuff, cars are too complicated and hard to get into most places when something needs repair ! I have to keep it simple !

      I haven’t seen it on his truck since I showed it in that one video he may have sold it already. I have a innova and also an older Autel that I use on light duty stuff. But thankfully we don’t work on them !

    Does it Regen

    • @KoonTrucking
      @KoonTrucking  4 года назад

      No it doesn’t it just reads codes and gives some live data on some trucks. If you are looking for something to regen and also to clear codes take a look at the OTR Performance Tool (it doesn’t read codes that’s where this tool shown in this video comes in handy for)
      OTR Performance a cheap and effective way to clear codes and force a regen. Use this link and reference code: koontrucking to save 5% off

    I'm full-time in another line work, but do automotive repair work on the side. I've always liked cars and working on them. Do you reckon 51 years old is too late for getting into "Large Car" repair? I drove OTR back in the nineties and a mixer-truck in the early 2000s.

    • @KoonTrucking
      @KoonTrucking  6 лет назад +2

      Never too late as long as your heart is eating and wake up on this side of the ground. At least that’s what my grandpa used to say. Never too old to do anything. Being old is in your mind and every now and then in sore joints !

    Good thing they sent it to you and you didn’t have to pay for it, my apologies if you did. We got a DCU 100 at work and it’s a $10,000 pile of junk. They said it would come with the troubleshooter free for the first year, but it got cut off after a month. It says it can calibrate the turbo actuator on a Cummins but it never works. We end up having to call the Cummins dealer down to use Insite. Just recently the bluetooth stopped working on it and the guys from Bosch said there’s nothing they can do. Sometimes it has a hard time connecting to the truck even using the USB connection instead of Bluetooth.

      sergio pena OTC’s scantools are junk. We have an encore at the place I work at and after a year it LOCKED US OUT OF THE TOOL. It wouldn’t let us use it at all until we payed the 800 dollar “update” fee. Sounds more like ransom to me. No one would help us from Bosch and when we called the distributor we bought it from they called Bosch who said it was not supposed to happen and we should’ve called Bosch. They give you the damn run around after they get your money.

      zack mcclain yeah brother I know what you mean. Back in the day they weren’t bad. They made the factory tool for GM and the Genysis scanner they sold on their own wasn’t bad. I bought one when I graduated tech school and I loved the thing. Once the newer scanners like the Pegysis, Encore and Genysis Touch came out it seems like everything went down the drain. I paid about $4k for a Genysis touch thinking it would be an upgrade and ended up selling it on eBay for an Autel 908P. Autel is a much better company. Better product, better support and better customer service. They even have a heavy duty version of my scanner called the 908CV that blows the doors off the Bosch we have at work. I’ve been trying to twist the director’s arm at work and get him to buy it now that the new school year is starting and we have our new budget

      No but I have an awesome product that will do that and works in conjunction with this code reader perfectly. Koon Trucking how much are they asking for DAVIE4 these days? We have a couple buses at work with Paccar chassis. Our Bosch just crapped out on us so I’m thinking of buying it on my own. I already have Cat ET, Cummins Insite and International ServiceMaxx. I may as well buy it instead of asking the school district to buy it for the shop

    Draw back with Bosch is finding a rep,Bosch fires them or they quit.Plus they don't stand behind their equipment,no tech support after purchase.A friend of my dad's was forced into retirement,he worked for Vetronix which Bosch bought them out in 2003.Saw he was one of two reps that made the most money and Bosch didn't like this.Bosch wanted to cut his commission and pay basically and that is when they forced him into retirement
