This is the man I grow up with when TV was black and white. Watching his show and listening to his music. He was a very funny man. The Lord gave him a voice no one can touch.
@@paulbrown8370 Just 'cause you can doesn't mean you should. Also, it's a claim. If you're for real, upload it and let us hear...but I'm not holding my breath.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED TENNESSEE ERNIE FORD!!! GOOD GOSPEL SINGER GOOD MAN GOOD GOOD GOOD!!! HE LOVED JESUS WITH ALL HIS HEART!!! GLAD I FOUND THESE SONGS!! NOBODY DOES IT LIKE ERNIE!!!!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I miss OUR CHRIST to the point of depression. I'm so ready to go home. Now that I believe it just isn't a place for a believer my place is to serve our CHRIST. AMEN 🙏
Never paid much attention to ol' Ernie until I got saved and walkin' after the Lord. Now I listen to him whenever I find myself needing some solace during the day. As much as the voice it is the words that ease me.
God gives us talented singers we can never forget Ernie was far beyond a singer. He was a man of great faith. He sand and he spoke from not only his mouth but also from within his heart and soul. Truly Heaven's Chior has a great addition.
I miss my dad...he loved this music. He could sing and sound so much like Tennessee. Makes me feel so lonesome. Those were exceptionally good days of music. I remember him being on the Lucy show. :) good memories
Mr. Ford you presented one of the best interpretations of this glorious song and so many other gospel song I cherish. My God give you credit for this and in my heart you live on and there is always a candle burning in your memory.
@Hendrick4404 Vocal ranges are often defined by genre. For example, in southern gospel music, Younce didn't quite have the full baritone range, since a gospel baritone sings higher, into the "lead" range. Ford had a very wide range, and even though he rarely displayed it, could easily sing a profound bass note. Since you mentioned Younce as a bari, it's interesting that one of his early bari singers, Roy Tremble, moved to the tenor position for over five years with the Cathedrals.
I wish I could find Ernie's recording of "Rainy Night in Georgia." When he goes down for the low notes, it's incredible. I prefer it to Brook Benton's monster hit version.
I think something is wrong with your video as it shows it's 9+ minutes so I assumed it would play that long, but it ended just past the 3 minute point when the song ended. Great song though......

I can. I can harmonize with him on his songs.

Agreed, but he had a solid Eb and could probably hit a C.
