- My momma would play this record on her phonograph often through the years. It was one of her favorites. Even Dad would pull it out and play it some times. We were poor as far as money went, as a matter of fact she rarely had anything to put in the plate at church but she made sure we were never poor in spirit. Though Mom is past on now her memory is with me always. I purchased this album not long ago in stereo so on this Palm Sunday I decided to post it for your enjoyment. Here's to you Momma. i learned a bunch about the gospel by listening to tennessee ernie ford. i count him among my mentors.

I sat in my dad's lap and listened to this when I was a kid in the 60's. My dad never went to church, but I know now he knew the true message of the cross.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Washed in his blood and praising him, this is my story, and my song.❤️

this is my first time hearing this particular one. I was raised on Tennessee Ernie Ford music, through my parents and my grandparents. There is something about his voice and his music that is so soothing. Every time I had heartaches, breakups from females because they would go against my own principles, but that is OK finally have wife that loves my principles in life to. Thank you Mr. Ford, Sir for sharing your gift of music, praises to the Father with the world. God Bless You all

It's the only LP I had when serving internationally and his voice reminded me of the Spirit's comforting, loving Presence while tribal drums beat out hatred in a nearby village. Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed him singing praises in this turbulent time January 2021. Beautiful!

I wish I could give this album a hundred thumbs up. I have almost all of these songs from various other Tennessee Ernie Ford albums but this particular arrangement of them is just extra special. I'm going to have to do some rearranging of some music files.

Sunday dinners after church dad put the stack on soft and low.

It's ok Bill, Jesus didn't like it either. The organized religion of his day was the pharisee's and sadducees, his own people. He came to set them free from it. God cares about your heart and being, not ritualistic chants and traditions of men. Seek Him and you will find freedom in Christ.

Maybe your versions were not the correct speed. This was a 33 1/3rd speed recording. A lot of newer versions of songs or albums are not the original recorded speed.
