Wonderful chat guys, honeypot locations are great as a starting point, somewhere your not likely to return too or you just want to see how your version differs. Paul as much as I love your vlogs, I would rather you spend this time with your young family while you can. Time is short and we can miss so much, even the little things they will remember. Through work I have missed so many moments that I can only be told about, family comes first.
Some belting bants. Really enjoying listening whilst at work. Excellent chaps. As for the honey pot locations if your in the place you have to shoot it, but get it and then go and find your own to be proud of 😊👍
I'm an ambassador for cheeseburgers! Interesting to hear your thoughts on motorbikes, Gary as I have had many bikes over the years (my last was an Aprilia RSV 1000) and I sold it about 10 years ago now because I was in a car crash and all i could think about afterwards was "If i had been on my bike, i'd have been killed." And because I couldn't shake that thought, I sold it and have never ridden since (although, I have raced pit bikes and that was a real buzz 😃). Great banter again, chaps. 👍
Another good podvlog Gents. The Van trip sounds like an epic in the making. The Craic should be up with the Gods on that! I will champion Avon Skin so Soft as well. Recently field tested it against the Scottish midge. It works as good on them as on the Irish Fekers Cheers Diz
I use the app "clear outside" which does give cloud levels. A professional photographer Jimmy McIntyre did some wonderful images from the lavender fields & he would get on well with Adam cause he brackets & exposure blends like ....... stunning.Well done lads.
Loving the podcast version in particular fellas. You all look so much better🤣 A topic suggestion for future podcasts, and considering that 2 of the 3 of you are coming to see us next season, I just wonder what you feel about the future of camera clubs ? Are they relevant in the modern world of internet and social media? I strongly believe they are. It's great having real friends, not just liker's and follwers, as I'm sure you'll agree.
Love the Podcast and you guys having some banther. I'm a hobby photographer and I enjoy the trio of you to learn from and get some ideas. I live in germany and sadly, I haven't come across these breathtaking locations that you guys have - mainly because this kind of landscape is not present in the flatter regions where I live. Keep up the awesome work and maybe some day I will do a landscape trip to the UK and visit some of your locations. You guys mentioned some facebook-groups and such where people share their work or discuss stuff: Any chance you three would be up to make some type or form of a forum for this? I don't like facebook in particular and I wish I could talk to likeminded people.
Your costings for France are not far off and it is a long long drive. Using the N roads means no tolls but takes longer = more stops for photography. You want the valensole plateau in Provence for the lavender fields. Check it out lads. I might even see you as I'll be there myself in mid July. Hope you manage it and I look forward to your photos.
Great podcast guys!Maybe a debate for the future is "crop sensor v full frame" or comments on the Sky Arts series "Master of Photography"(if you have watched it - now in it's 3rd or 4th series). Thanks for your time.
I managed to get the wheels on my second trip to Seaham. I'm not far away but that beach isn't really that easy to get to, clambering over the rocks at the bottom to get on the beach, well at 61 its a bit hairy. As it's pretty difficult to get to you are on your own (the dog walkers can't get down to it). On my second and last visit I stepped across to a pool of water and slipped full length into it, managed to keep my camera in the air and jumped up as quick as I went down, fortunately no one about to see the old fool. So a little wet and thankful I didn't hurt myself I reflected on the fact that if I had, I would be lying on the beach on my own with not much prospect of anyone coming by, that's why it was my last visit !
Know how you feel Gary, visited Seaham a several months ago with sunrise coinciding with low tide, only to find the water level still too high. Still had fun though and loved visiting the area for the first time. In terms of a question or topic for discussion would be interested in hearing if you have any good or bad photography habits?
Great podcast guys. How about an excursion to France with an old London bus you could hire a singer for entertainment and share the driving, to offset the cost you can sell tickets. Just a thought.
Hi Guys, just another possible idea for a future debate - I see quite a few comments from viewers fed up with the constant advertising on RUclips that interrupts vlogs, vloggers plugging their workshops/print sales/products they've been sent by manufacturers....and so on.Personally I couldn't care less - i'm being treated to a FREE vlog/photography lesson that has had a lot of work put into it so if the vlogger in return wants to promote their photography then good for them.I'm not being forced to do anything I don't want to.
Question: are there any times when you've broken - or departed from - the guidelines ( I won't call them rules) as to what makes a good image, but still come away with a keeper?
I'll watch your return to YT Paul ... And heckle you in the comments. ;-7 I'd have to include Mont Saint-Michel on a photo trip to France, not sure if it's actually any good beyond the classic image from shore but in theory I've got ancestors from the area.
Hi gents. Thanks for another cracking episode. Great info on Provence locations here: www.thewanderinglens.com/your-guide-to-photographing-the-lavender-fields-of-valensole/. Hope this helps. I can see a TV series in the offing if Adam decides to go as well !!
I would watch you Paul, Like Gary I used to enjoy your vlogs. As I have said before I have a bridge camera a Sony RX10iv, This camera is so advanced that it has to be taker seriously, I have heard it described as the only professional bridge camera. What do you guys think, is there a place for the bridge?
So people grab the obvious shot. So what? Its the obvious shot for a reason. I think its fine to grab the obvious shot and then work around it for a unique shot or shots
@@PaulGJohnsonphotography worded wrong but i was agreeing with you haha. I dont see why some photographers turn their noses up at people who get those obvious shots. I look at it like this. Its those shots that get people to travel to those locations. Those are the inages that inspire people (inc myself) to travel 6 hours in the car etc. Then once youve grabbed that shot your more likely to explore the area after. Its also a sense of pride when you hang an image youve taken on your wall or shared on social media etc we can all hang somebody elses work on our walls but its better when its your own work.

Jeff Files thanks buddy
“It’s only that far on the map”, said Gary haha, Come to Australia and try that one.

Love the Isle of Skye and visit at least twice a year, hate the drive, but then i do live south of the M6 J12 to J20 roadworks

Great podcast lads, love the craic and banter with some good ideas thrown in. The nerds on tour in France how many will make it back😂😂

Make more Paul. Can you guys speak English please, like they do in Glasgow. Or subtitles. ;)

Another great Podcast. What is your opinion of hyperfocal focusing compared with Focus Stacking in landscapes.
I've got the Seaham Wheels - first time there and fell lucky I think.
Great podcast guys.

Thanks guys, just removing the Jungle Formula from my camera bag!!

Ross Brocklesby yep that’s what was said 👍
