I haven't learn how to play in correct way very carefully.BUT I really learn how to do it through practice in this book. That 's the most wonderful thing of the book!
My teacher has prescribed exercises in the book to problem solve difficulties in pieces I am learning. Also I use the book’s exercises for warm up and to check position. I feel it has prevented injuries and corrected bad habits. This video reminds me I haven’t taken advantage of everything in it.
This book quickly became a quirky cult hit among the fingerstyle/classical guitar community, even over here in England. I almost wore out the VHS I had of it, later upgrading to the DVD. Thank you Mr. Tennant!
Make all the fun of the video you want Scott -- that is one OUTSTANDING book. TYVVM. Your book was my textbook for all my Classical practicum hours. That was 12 of the coolest hours I spent in college. Namaste Bro.
I'm doing the Carcassi coaching type pieces, Pumping Nylon complete & the Van Eps books. I feel pretty @#$% rigorous! XD. SERIOUSLY, there has never been a better time to be a student. I have hot links in most of my guitar books now that lead to a pdf or musician playing the thing in question. Even the old classics like Van Eps or Chord Chemistry have countless hours of lessons and commentary online from influencers trying to win your sub. There are hours and hours of free Scott stuff online obviously. Your excuses are invalid!!! HF.
I think it's the first VHS lessons technique classical guitar do I see at the stores 20 years ago , and I buy it , all lessons are great and fantastic and i still yet
imagine being a young man and writing a book to which not only newcomers in classical guitar community, even experienced famous guitarists acknowledging your work. these days a book like PN probably would be unrecognized or underrated. I think since they are available on the internet people take them for granted.
I've been playing since 94, i just saw pumping nylon a couple of weeks ago and thought not much about it, the day after i tried some excercices and got totally exhausted in 10 minuter and immediately understood that these excercices could solve problems i have had with my technique for years. Now doing some excercises daily and i've improved so much in a really short time! Thank you!
I saw Scott play at the National Guitar Summer workshop one summer and seen him play at USC a bunch of times while being a student and is very nice to talk to as well. A great player for sure. I always enjoyed watching Pumping Nylon as well. The Guitar quartet was amazing to watch as well.
Back then studying at a music university with a professor who gave us none technique at all this was gold to us!
I had a talented cellist/pianist GF who got me started on Classical guitar because I loved Neoclassical - same problem, same fix. HF

Still use these workouts today ❤🔥❤ Thanks Scott💪
