Redwood Valley Railway 🚂 Tilden steam train 😃 Berkeley California

Follow us as we take the Tilden steam train ride at the Redwood Valley Railway in Tilden Park. I was here on Halloween that’s why it’s not to busy, normally there’s a big line. It was established in 1952 by Erich Thomsen as the Tilden South Gate and Pacific Railway, on a 12 inch or 305mm gauge and is 1 1/4 mile long carrying over 160,000 passengers a year. In 1968 it was re-gauged to 15 inch or 281mm the new 5” scale equipment allowed two adults to ride side by side. The ride last 15 minutes and cost $3:50 as of now 2022.

Ok, that's a cool train! It's great that the passenger cars look like cargo cars, this is amazing! One of the villages near where we live in Germany has a train something like this. We should ride it someday.

This is such a cool experience. Seeing a small scale steam engine pulling a small scale version of a train is adorable. There is a similar place here near my house in England. I was going to do some filming in another place and I've spotted a railway like this one. I told myself that I would love to go there one day, I just wait for the weather to get slightly warmer, it's still pretty cold here! Beautiful video, was fascinating to watch!
