Talking to the guy in the house in between Cherrygrove City and Mr Pokemons House gives you the Pokevial! Also the snubbull egg is one of the many "Wonder Eggs" throughout the game. The Wonder Eggs have a MASSIVE pool of what they could be. Lastly Chimecho is the dev's favorite Pokemon, do with that information as you will.

Oh, we learned about that in art class. You’re talking about chromostereopsis. Colors with a longer wavelength appear closer, so reds will appear to be closest to you. It’s not just a you thing.

I always love some Gen 2 content. This also feels way better than Ancestral X. Trainers having the super buffed levels feels a bit odd, but being able to easily jump your level is an alright solution I guess. Basically just keep bumping your level constantly so you can just play through the game without ever having to worry about any amount of grinding
I vote to keep the food theme going! Just name the Pokémon to a food whose name starts with a letter of the member that claimed it!

Well, this is certainly an interesting change of pace! I'm more than okay with this- we need more good quality Essentials fangames.
EDIT now that I've seen a bit more: While I'm not a huge fan of the severely truncated dialogue, I think the quality of life improvements make up for it.
Tbf, nobody reads the dialogue in pokemon games anymore, they're mostly played as a boss rush and a mash A simulator

Okay but the thing with that specific red is so real. I was kind of listening to this in the background and heard you talk about it so i got interested. The stat drop thingy definitely looks closer than the rest.
NGL, minimal grinding spoiled me.
I tried to play a emerald romhack without minimal grinding and i couldnt even make it to the 4th gym. Not having to deal with EVs and IVs just makes the game way more enjoyable, which is funny since training your pokemon should be an important part of the game that unfortunately ends up being more of a chore than anything.
What's Lion's Pride? That's not a vanilla ability. Did they take the changes from another rom hack and then redact the new ability too?

Oh btw Cal most of the towns has patches of grass in them that'll have 2 generations of starters each depending on day and night
I'm doing my own ruleset it expert mode where I get 1 encounter per route (chosen) and I have to beat every fight deathless and seeing you just get all 31 Ivs is painful when my ludicolo has 3 different IVs between 1 and 0
Really want to try this game, but it's Gen 3 style graphics kinda bugs me, since it's based on a 4th Gen game.

I'm up to the victory road in this, stuck on the second trainer there. My 2 favourites (Keep in mind, I've only used a handful, so there may be some pokemon I'd like more that I missed) are Dudunsparce and Unown (and Dudunsparce also gets composure, but it replaces a different ability then Dunsparce does)

Unshaken still sounds like a good ability since you can use moves such as draco meteor, overheat and leaf storm without getting the special attack drops, and if you combine those with calm mind, you would have a powerful sweeper
Except all set up moves are banned on expert mode, lol

Playing Crystal Legacy atm. Glad to experience all of the Johto vibes, 'Grueling GS' sounds pretty unique. It is interesting to me how 'difficulty' hacka co-inside with what im going to call 'variety' hacks

You can set your mons’ level and change their ability on the go ? What’s even the point of playing this game, like this is just taking core Pokémon gameplay and throwing it in the trashcan
The point is to get rid of grinding and battle hard trainers. It’s a different experience for sure and not for everyone

Radical Red should be the gold standard for ROM hacks. I genuinely can't play other Rom hacks anymore because I'm too used to RR's QoL and minimal grind
