    I was here for this one. Some really wonderful and diverse layouts here, not to mention all of the members were extremely warm and talkative

    Great to see you got a lot of people interested, we’ll worth the effort in the end! 😎 Looks like it ran OK too in the end, though it was clearly someone else’s turn to lay troublesome trucks as that milk train got left behind 🤣😂😅
    Really liked that brewery layout too. Some lovely layouts on show👍🍻🍀

    Thank you for taking time out for recording and sharing the exhibition. Lots of hard work by all the participants.. Most of the layouts were country side with hills and tunnels etc. Noticed your Kato Locomotives and wagons and Layout which stood up with complete industrial theme.. Great.

    Great video.
    .. This used to be one of my favourite 'local' Railway Exhibition's - real friendly bunch of modellers.
    It is about the only downside I have for moving from 'Down South' up here to North Wales - where shows like this are very rare..

    Thanks for taking the time in filming and sharing these layouts. Plenty of gauges and different scenery. Well done all involved. Well done too in finishing your own layout, always look so well presented.

    Hello mike and doug ive just been watching the very first budget model railways video you did 7 years ago built for £35 , for such a small 00 layout you show just how much can be done providing you use pre owned and do some scratch buildings and in 2023 at the sompting and district model railway exhibition your still going strong, so well done Paul

    What an amazing exhibition. Thank you for sharing. I wish we had more of these style exhibitions in the States. People here are focused on constructing huge modular layouts, and as a result, you only get two or three in a large building.
    My favorite moment? "When have you ever heard me refuse anything with ketchup?" Was that Doug?

    I appreciate the work that has gun into many of these layouts. But in many cases a lot of these trains need to slow down.

    • @BudgetModelRailways
      @BudgetModelRailways  Год назад

      I know what you mean, I try and run as slow as I can. Mind you the camera does add speed if you know what I mean

    Hi Mike.
    A nice exhibition display by a little 'Dance around the Maypole' village.
    10/10 for effort! I see the CREALITY gizmo made an appearance. Did you get lots of interest and questions asked about its performance and price?
    Personally, I prefer these smaller community type shows as the huge ones lack the warmth that Sompting radiates amongst the locals. Just my opinion you understand. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to attend, a recent medical issue (non-contageous) has left me rather physically debilitated so it makes sense to steer clear of crowds.
    Keep this channel buzzing Mike as not all of us enthusiasts have the financial clout to continually purchase new locos and rolling stock etc.
    Thanks for all the tips and advice your videos contain and long may that continue.
    Keep the faith and that goes for Dougie as well!
    Kind regards,
    Paul. 👍👍👍

      Thanks Paul that's very kind of you. Yes I agree the smaller shows are sometimes better, although the Bluebell Show was always good, although we sadly no longer get invited

    0:44 is it me or is that signal box a continental Faller kit?
    3:41 That Kato layout looks like a mix of both continental and UK on one board
    4:18 great one, could use some more colorful rolling stock as it has a very pre ww1 look to it
    6:23 the famous Pola signal box making an appearance again
    7:39 some very continental looking wagons trying to hide themselves there.
    8:50 that shunter would be the ideal motive power on a German themed Inglenook, but they are terribly expensive in HO

    A very nice exhibition and not to big, personally i feel the large exhibitions we are seeing up and down the uk do loose the point, its about enjoying the hobby not who can have the largest layout , the most expensive locomotives and has cost more than most of us will ever be able to afford ? but many very well presented layouts i did rather like the brewery with the guy in the office on the phone but well done to everyone who exhibited Paul

    Why do all the layouts with Trams on have operators that are obsessed with speed? It seems the same on ALL videos. Just asking.

    • @BudgetModelRailways
      @BudgetModelRailways  Год назад

      Not my layout so I'm afraid I don't have an answer, but was also a little bemused by the speed

  • @keithwreyford999
    @keithwreyford999 Год назад

    I don't have much to add to the comments already made looks to have been a good show and thanks for recording it. I have to agree with Andy the speed of some of the engines is quite disproportionate to their scale especially the trams they made me feel a bit travel sick just watching them 😢

      When we did music we got asked to leave the original sound, so it's a difficult one to get right as you can't please everyone lol
