Good idea, I will be doing that too.
Yea, me too. I have always just stuck new places on and went. It's shocking how the "factory edge" isn't sharp at all.
I love it so much I mow my neighbors yard every week when I do mine...
Thank you for watching!
Hey there, that's looks good and a lesson learn, we really appreciate that 👍🏾
Thanks for watching. I'm glad I could be of help.
I'm 50 years old I have never sharpened a new blade in my life. After watching your video, I will be now. You have educated me!!!!! Thank You.
Thank you for watching! Educated you? I educated me. 🤣 I've seen other tubers talk about sharpening vs not sharpening new blades but I never give it much thought. Boy was I WRONG. I'll be sharpening blades new and used from now on.
I have already subscribe to your channel only on my phone
Thank you for your support. It is much appreciated.
Man U need an all American sharpener setup. Ole skool stuff rite there
Got nowhere to put it. I use what I have. Been doing it this way for 24 years.
I watch and subscribe to your channel on my phone only
Thanks for the support!
Great video! I always sharpen new blades.
Thank you for watching. I've always trusted what dealerships told me based on the info given to them by the manufacturer. Not anymore. I knew there was a difference but I honestly didn't believe there was THAT BIG a difference.
I'm a subscribed 42 inch Gravely owner.....
Thank you for watching and for your support. How do you like your gravely? I love my 452.
I'm heading down to George's Mower in Leesburg FL. tomorrow and getting mine done.
Thanks for watching! Getting your blades sharpened?
@BigSouthOutdoorsTV
Yes Sir
Great vid
@@therrienmichael08 oh, cool. Thank you for the kind words.
Do you have a " best blade" video? I always have crazy grass stuck under my deck
Thanks for watching. I don't, but I can tell you, the reason grass is sticking is because the grass is wet when you cut it or at least that's been my experience. For me, the best all condition blade I have found is the Copperhead blade by Rotary. I've been using them for 8 years or so now, and they cut great and last FOREVER.
Sharpened blades are always a better cut
I've been told thousands of times by dealers that new blades don't need sharpening. That's why I conducted this test.
@BigSouthOutdoorsTV awesome video too by the way,
@BomansHomestead83 thanks dude!
I always sharpen new blades before using them. I have notice that the factory edge is dull. They tell me that blades should be sharpened to the sharpness of a butter knife, but depending on the type of grass, you really need them sharper. So I believe your results. I use a John Deere zero-turn, 62 inch deck on 12 acres.
Thank you for watching! I've always been told not to sharpen blades because they won't last any longer than the factory edge, so I just threw them on and mowed. What I said in the video was absolutely true. I got a result I wasn't expecting and I was shocked with the result.
The new blades should last longer
We'll see.
Dude get battery impact. So much more convenient than having to find air for a pneumatic. I have the dewalt impact wrench with 8ah batt. Take those bolts out no problem.
I need to. 🤣🤣 It's just easy for me due to the fact I have an air compressor and 100 ft. of high pressure hose. I am looking at the Ridged high torque impact, I just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.
Yeps use the exact same thing flap disk all the way✔️The proof is in the pudding ✔️💯👌🏽
Stay tuned for more
Yes factory edge isn't sharp you are wright you need to sharpen new blades
Thanks for watching. If you listen to dealers, those you believe have your best interest at heart, you'd believe as I did for years itnot necessary.
I found tou ideo the other day. I,too did sub to you then. I have bqd boy 42 inch zero turn
Thanks for watching and for subbing. I appreciate your support.
