the link you made between "tuna" and "tunisia" is very funny loool I think you are the first person to have made this link ahahaha good one... Nobody really knows the origin of the word Tunisia, but what is certain is that it is linked to the name of the capital Tunis, a hypothesis says that Tunis comes from the Berber dialect of the word "TNS" which means "to lie down", "to spend the night", "camp" and another hypothesis says that it comes from the Punic goddess "Tanit" ... But your hypothesis seems much more credible to me Tunisia comes from Tuna because the Tunisians eat a lot of tuna !!
Originally from Hammamet, I was somewhat taken aback when you first described it as merely a tourist town lacking authenticity. Hammamet is, in fact, a historic town with a deeply rich heritage. Its inhabitants take great pride in their origins, maintaining numerous customs and traditions that have been passed down through generations. I'm glad to see that by the end of the video, you seemed to reconsider your initial impression. However, there is still much more to explore and appreciate about the unique and authentic character of Hammamet..
An interesting walkabout. Love the part where Dylan chases after the cats. Wow, he has grown up fast. I watch him grows from a new born baby to a cute toddler now. Great that everyone loves those yummy buns as breakfast. Thanks a bunch for sharing and showing us Hammamet ville and Medina. Good job, Sir.
Sir.. you shouldn't be feel embarrassed when your wife not wearing SHORTS in Muslim countries.. that mean she's respectful , honorable lady for other religions... I do think all Muslim people has same though too.. and you sir should be proud of her.... frankly say, I like your wife attitude.. don't mind those other tourists that wear shorts. and I do like your children too. anyway, take care and be safe...
First i want to welcome you to Tunisia!! I hope you see as many places as you can.. And i hope you can visit Djerba island and Bizerte. Also best beaches in Tunisia would be kelibia and Haouaria.. And then answering your question about filming government buildings: in Tunisia you can film anything and you can use your camera anywhere except military bases and military areas and there would be signs there, where you can know that it's not allowed to film and take pictures of.. Again welcome to Tunisia and i hope you have a great time with your family
@@yvesthesleeve anytime!! And regarding wearing shorts or dresses in Tunisia.. You can.. Even us locals we do wear shorts.. Except in the south which is more conservative
SANTORINI In 1967, the iconic combination of blue and white even became mandatory when a law was passed under the military dictatorship for all houses on the islands to be painted in these colors. It was thought at the time that this would inspire patriotism and reflect Greek nationalism. Although these regulations were relaxed, they helped cement the association of blue and white with the Cyclades in the collective imagination. SIDI BOUSAID ( TUNISIE ) The village received the name Sidi Bou Saïd when it became the seat of a municipality in 1893. On August 28, 1915, a decree was issued to ensure the protection of the village, imposing the blue of Sidi Bou Saïd11 and the white so dear to Baron d'Erlanger, and prohibiting any anarchic construction on the promontory12,6, making Sidi Bou Saïd the first classified site in the world.
The blue and white pattern is much older than Santorini or even Sidi Bou Said, and is believed to originate in the Carthaginian realm in the heart of the Mediterranean region. Modern day Tunisia including Sidi Bou and Hammamet or Sousse's Old Medinas are just successors of this heritage.
I think tunisia has changed alot because of the economic struggle , the country is almost bankrupt, people live in misery thats why you cant see anything interesting, about filming people not just the africans who dislike it but most people around the world do , in USA you may get shot , just for staring not even filming .
I suppose there are lots of different coffees but also tea. I could have taken either on, but we had black coffee before and the kids only ever drink water. We do not drink any sugary drinks.

In fact, the white and blue colors are specific to Tunisia, but Morocco was known for the orange-brown color before it imitated Tunisia 10 years ago and used the famous colors in Tunisia, such as white and blue and white and green.
@@yvesthesleeve About 10 years ago Chefchaouen started turning blue. If you want I can send you pictures of Chefchaouen before 2010 and you will not find the blue color at all. I have a video and pictures of it before 2010.
Not complaining but if you saw the video before you might understand that there were no tourists in the very touristy area of Hammamet north which surprised me very much.
Its like walking inside a maze hallway full of souvenir's shop! but its really interesting and beautiful, its clean too.
I totally agree!
Loved your new country selection of Tunisia! Especially the country's local markets, local foods, shops as well as seaside sights are great.

Yes, we like it, we hope to extend the tour all around the country during the next months, so I hope the views are going up.

Haha, actually in many countries people love to get filmed, also here most people like it, it really depends on the country.
Pastries as your Tunisian breakfast without any coffee or tea. What is a typical Tunisian breakfast like in its coffee shop or restaurant?
I suppose there are lots of different coffees but also tea. I could have taken either on, but we had black coffee before and the kids only ever drink water. We do not drink any sugary drinks.
Tourists...tourists...tourists...that is all U hv talked about & mentioned that word more than a hundred times!!!
When are you visiting Pakistan again??
Well, this will all clear in a few months but we will surely return there
