I absolutely love your transparency. Of all of the people I have watched on RUclips who have gone through his program, you are by far the most detailed and the most open. I've been binge watching your videos since yesterday and I think I can do this. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I think you can do this too! One baby step at a time. I believe I was very much inspired by the people who shared before me but at the same time ... it wasn't enough. I kept complaining in my head that I wish I could do that but if I did I do it this way or that way ... share the numbers and the difficulties real-time... etc etc... I kept complaining so much to myself about that I finally realized that I'd have to do it myself. LOL. It was a big decision. It gets hard sometimes but it's so totally worth it! Thank you for joining the community, watching and commenting.
You focus. You practice and rehearse certain chosen principles and that will build habits, some good ones that accomplish goals. That is how you got through school, you jumped through all the hoops to the FINISH LINE. Corporate world would be sorry to lose an employee like you because that is what they want.
I'm new to your channel, and only watching this three years after you posted it - but I have to say THANK YOU for your honesty and transparency - you are guiding all of us who are seeking Financial Peace
THIS VIDEO put soooo many things in perspective for me. It has given me understanding and renewed motivation into starting the Dave Ramsey plan. For so long I’ve felt like I was saving in reverse bc I’m behind. Baby step zero makes so much sense and I am onboard again as a Dave Disciple as I like to call myself lol. Thank you so much for sharing.
Having lived with depression/anxiety for the better part of 20 years I can very much relate to you...am so proud of you for the progress you are making...I hope to you speak to your therapist about volunteering...getting out of my own head and helping others made all the difference for me...wishing you strength and success!
That financial blueprint... I can totally relate. I’m currently working on this. I’m very obsessive about my finances. Therapy thought me that I think that going over budget a bit will cause debt going into collections. This is because of my childhood. A lot of debt, collections, people at the door asking for their money. It is strange to say that I should learn to relax a bit about my budget even though I’m on DR plan.
The thing that helps me relax and clean up my financial blueprint is following Dave's plan and setting financial goals to support me in being successful. I believe I mentioned in every video that "money is emotional" to me because of that I knew with certainty that the very first thing I needed was financial dignity. Without it, I was an emotional mess. Now that I have it I've relaxed a lot and I'm letting more money flow into my life which ultimately is helping me to get to a place where I can repay my debts. You have to use your faith but also "trust" whatever financial plan you've selected to support you on your journey. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I am so thankful for your videos. I have been binge watching them. I have been having a tough time trying to pull things together in my personal life since I divorced 2 years ago. I am still purging and have within downsized in my living quarters. I felt as though I needed a smaller space in order to focus on myself as well as making things simpler for me. I'm loving your transparency. I've finally written down all of my debt and has come to the realization of my financial health. I have pulled out Dave Ramsey's book again and is I'm now on the road to being debt free. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for your honesty. and for touching on mental health topics! I have to start getting real honest with myself! LOVE your channel, you are a lovely and kind person Stacey :)
You are amazing. Thanks for sharing your true self and journey. I have completed step 1 and started paying off debt but I think I missed some of baby step zero and will need to take care of that. Great information. See you on the next video.
The paper and pen girl Thank you! I realize my perspective going through baby step zero was very different once I completed. That’s why I wanted to get this video out so people could understand challenges that might be showing up in baby step 1 or 2. Thank you so much for watching!!!
Stacey Flowers I have been binge watching your videos and girl. I can see that you are owning your process and the struggles that you had to and are currently going through in order to grow and thrive. I pray that more people would learn to do that and live beyond their mistakes. Christ died so that we could be free from those too. Blessing sister.
I've been watching a lot of your videos, because you have been so inspiring. I had commented on one of your more recent videos, but I also wanted to just comment on this one, that this is seriously what I needed to hear. I understood the commitment part of it, but the honesty is what I really needed to add to my thinking for this. I am definitely deep into Baby Step 0, with so many things that are not current or even close to being current because of my husband being out of work for 3 months. It's not the first time this had happened, and I am just so sick of our mismanagement of money putting us right back into this same position time after time. Knowing what it's like to try to live on one income should have been enough to make us get that savings built up and cut expenses, but nope. The more money he made, the more we spent, and now it's harder than ever to try to come back from that. But we are both determined, and I'm going to sit down with him this evening and have him watch this video with me, and then we'll have a discussion and go over what we can do to finish baby Step 1. I have some good ideas, and it'll take a lot of work, but I have hope! Thank you so very much for sharing your journey with us.
I cried a little bit about you giving up your dog. That is a huge emotional loss. I like dogs. I can't have a dog in general for pretty much the same reasons that you had to give up your dog -- that it just wouldn't be fair to the dog. I have two cats. The cost of my cats is about $35 per month and that is if I do a sinking fund to cover things like seresto collars for them. I am on my own, like you. I don't think I could cope emotionally with my changed circumstances (going through divorce, and my two children who remain at home are with their dad) without my furry friends. I can relate to how much they calm me. They are affectionate, but I can leave them at home all day while I work or go out of town for a couple of days without having to make a big fuss and find a cat babysitter. It's nice to come home to them -- they meet me at the door, and they are happy to see me.
Stacey I am so glad that you spoke about your dog and making the hard decision to give him up. When you first spoke about getting a dog..I was like "did she lose her mind"? Obviously she doesn't realize how expensive pets are...(speaking to myself)..and I was going to fuss at you in the comments..lol..luv you Ms. Stacey!!!
LOL... I had no idea how expensive pets are. It was an emotional decision but my budget helped snap me back into reality. I was like wait ... what?!?!?!?! Spend the same on my child as my dog... umm no. But also I didn't realize psychologically how supportive dogs are. In addition to Stella being an amazing dog. I know how she helped me get through some very tough moments mentally which is why I got another dog so quickly. I will take my time getting another dog. But I absolutely get another one because dogs are amazing and have helped me on so many levels. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I understand how and why you gave away your dog. I get it. I know that was hard to do, i feel for you. Animals are exspensive. I owned one, now i have cat and she needs exspensive cat food. Your so strong. I really thinking harder about my finances in a diffrent way after listen to you. Thank you for sharing. The fiscal freedom is in lighting !
This came through my feed this Morning I've watched lots and lots of your video's am even attending DR class right now but this video made it all come together so much better...Thanks for sharing❤
See... I just realized I've been doing it wrong. Using my credit card and yes, paying it in full, but I tend to spend more than I had budgeted, therefore I'm always running a bit behind. Starting over next paycheck. Thank you 🖤
I just discovered your channel and I think you're amazing. Your dedication towards becoming debt free and financially independent is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your journey & I can't wait to try some the yummy lookin' meals you post! Btw you're absolutely stunning and do you ever get told that you and Lupita Nyong'o look alike?
JAY JAY Yes Jay, I get told that all the time. I consider it a compliment. Thank you for following my journey, watching and commenting. Thank you so much
Hi again Stacey! Maybe you can babysit another dog to experience the calm you did in the past. I agree that animals provide support on many levels. I’m wishing you the best on this journey! 🤗😘
I actually don't know if I ever did babystep 0. I'm on babystep 2 now, but I think I need to go back and review to make sure I did the things you said. Somehow I missed it in the group I am a part of. The honesty part is really hard.
Hi I just found your channel this week and have been binge watching and it has helped me detail my budget more. Do you have a video on you turmeric milk??
Keith Clark Yes! I make a video about it. I’m still just wrapping my mind around it but I’ll make sure I explain the different between being current and on time. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I thought it was to make you a millionaireI still have a credit card but I pay it in full every month I just use it for the cash back so technically I'm not barrowing
Rewatching in a new season of life and it is still very much relevant. Thanks for sharing!
