yknow it wasn't til recently I learned that TXR/Shutokou Battle had these references in it?! apparently in the Japanese version of the first game you can get a slightly altered version of Takumi's AE86 with a specific license plate password! I just picked up a JP copy off of ebay I can't wait to tear up the highways again I remember this one being fun.

In the Japanese release of Shutoko Battle on the Dreamcast you can unlock Takumi's 86.
in shutokou battle 1 there is a regional exclusive car named the type ae86tD
