It's horrible that people took advantage of this poor man. Saying things like "never know till you try!" Wtf man. People are just so vicious, that person was obviously not in the right head state.
I am on the verge of tears for this person, no human should go through this and I truly wish he had gotten the help he needed

its devastating, I heard one about a young kid (13-15 most) who was bullied and harassed online and then they encouraged her when she live streamed taking her own life. I cant imagine what kind of sick person sees a game or fun in tormenting people they already know are struggling

it’s crazy to me that he was even let out of the ER after doing something so horrible to his body. it would’ve been clear to any doctor that no one in their right mind would hurt themselves in a such a way, yet he was still discharged from the ER. the healthcare system failed him.
They might have held him but in the US, a person can be held for only two weeks without a court hearing. Usually, if the person hasn’t committed a crime and is able to say they’re feeling better they’ll be let go because of Reagan era laws.
Dude was not saveable unless you locked him in a straightjacket and put him in a cell, which would never happen since he was only violent toward himself. Drugs can do that to some people.

It brings a frown to my face that this can happen in real life. The worst part is that we get to witness the journey and experience. If this was real, I can't imagine how this guy was feeling, stuck in a place he cannot get out of. He didn't want to refuse, and felt like he couldn't, so this is what happened. I hope that anyone with suic**al thoughts calls a hotline or someone to help because this is probably some of the most depressing stuff. Also if you are going through a moment like this right now make sure to call help. Even if you think they won't help or some other reason just try, because if you don't, this video is a perfect example on what could happen. I hope everyone stays well and strong and everyone goes through things so don't single yourself out or bring yourself down, there will be someone to listen to, no matter what you think. I hope you have a great day, and hope your life is going great.

Oh god… I remember this dude. Reading about his issues was such a heartbreaking experience. I’ve seen the images and they’re… pretty bad. I’m used to medical gore and stuff but it’s still incredibly shocking and sad.
I know it’s different, but as someone who has OCD I can… understand the obsessive need to hurt oneself. Your obsessions become your background noise, thoughts that get louder and louder the longer you try to ignore it. It’s exhausting and everyone has different triggers and rituals for their obsessions.
Please, never be afraid to reach out. If you have urges to hurt yourself, be it scratching, cutting, burning, anything that hurts, please try to stop. Medicine can help, cognitive behavioural therapy can save your life. Self harm and suicide is a long term answer to a short term problem. If you feel alone, toll free suicide hotlines are there to listen to you.

I used to suffer from very bad BDD, body dysmorphic disorder, which made me obsessed with how I saw my face. BDD is sometimes called "imagined ugliness" and I saw myself as absolutely hideous. Nauseatingly ugly. I believed people looked away as to not throw up when they saw me because my face was so disgusting. All I wanted was to look normal, not pretty, just normal, and I used to spend hours in front of the mirror with an old and rusty, paint covered scalpel just imagining taking that final step and cutting those revolting cheeks open and squeezing out the fat. I was never able to go through with it though, something inside of me was still not sick enough to believe it would work, but I used to cry about not being brave enough to "fix my face". I was miserable. 10 years later and I'm much much better, but I can see myself in this person's shoes all too easily. This could've been me, but with my face. I'd rather disfigure myself than look the way I did. Obsession is scary.
That's incredibly sad. People with psychotic delusions tend to mix in their own pain with religious fervor creating a reason to sacrifice their own well being as well as the well being of others. One of my brothers has schizophrenia and he babbles on and on about metaphysical subjects and pain when he's off his meds.

They are influenced by demons. It’s why people never have voices telling them positive things. It’s always negative and evil.

it seems to me that this person had such severe ocd and paranoia because in his head he got intrusive thoughts that told him bad things would happen if he didn’t follow through and that’s what ocd causes - ruminating thoughts that you think are real and that don’t go away. it’s truly so sad i wish this person didn’t have to be put through this.

I think he might be/have been schizophrenic, that shit makes the person hear noises which they believe. In my experience, people with this disorder are fully sucked into their own imagination.

we might never truly know what mental illness this guy had, and even if the diagnosis does seem accurate, its probably not best to try to diagnose someone using only a few internet posts.
This story is more sad than disturbing to me . I have ocd and experience psychosis-like symptoms and I have physically hurt myself before for similar reasons . It just shows how insane mental illness is . Suffering through OCD and psychosis as someone who has both , is something I wouldnt wish on my worst enemies . Its like yelling that the world is going to end and everyone around you just laughs . He seemed like a genuinely smart and decent person which makes this even sadder

@@KASPlaysSims not at all ! Psychosis isn’t a diagnosis itself but more of a symptom of something like bipolar , schizophrenia , depression or sometimes even ocd . Psychosis is mainly categorised by visual , auditory or tactile hallucinations . For me my visual hallucinations are seeing shadows , auditory would be hearing whispers or crying or someone calling my name and tactile would be feeling someone grab me or bugs under my skin . Other signs are delusions such as thinking you’re being watched or in this users case , thinking god is talking to you or in some cases , thinking you ARE god . Another common sign of psychosis is aggression , isolation , deep depression and extreme anxiety . The cause of it isn’t fully known I don’t think but common reasons are trauma , medication , drugs and illnesses . Psychosis is commonly found in people with bipolar I disorder and schizophrenia

This is just horrible. It's really upsetting to see how people deal with emotions. All I can say is thank you for taking this so responsibly. All the other youtube channels make things way too serious IMO. They have more unnerving voice overs, but you just sat and talked in a normal voice. It's much more calming and I thank you for that :)

well they did say they were admitted to inpatient facilities several times, why they were let out without any help is the question.. some people just slip through the cracks, the system is imperfect for sure
@@sillydog583 as someone who has been in inpatient facilities (for suicidal ideations, if you were wondering), the system is more than imperfect, its straight up broken. only the most vocal people actually get any help, otherwise youre kept there for a while until they deem you "ok" even if youre really not, and then youre released back onto the streets with almost nothing changing. a lot of the time, the people in these facilities have been there multiple times.

this stuff (not his self mutilation just the lack of help for people with psychotic delusions and other symptoms) is surprisingly common actually, sad stuff. a large portion of the homeless are thought to be mentally ill or disabled (compared to the stats of those with homes)
It is impossible to help someone unless they are able to help themself. Making someone want to help themselves is probably the hardest thing someone who isn't that person can ever do.

I mess with scammers on Instagram. One time I messed around about wanting to castrate a scammer. Of course he got angry and took the loss. I posted screenshots as always, and something happened when I added the hashtag castrated. The amount of men reaching out to me actually getting turned on about the idea of having a woman castrate them was insane. I had to remove the hashtag only a few hours after to make it stop.

Schizophrenic here, most people don't fake this stuff, but enough people fake it that my own special ed teacher in highschool insisted I was faking it. Many times I came close to harming myself due to similar lines of delusion this man displays, except mine were about world piece at the cost of me dying. Twice I almost didn't make it out alive. Schizophrenia is no joke, glad that I found the right treatment and have a strong grasp on logic. Approaching 2 years stable.

I've been in some weird dark places during quarantine where I was trying to find deeper meaning and strengthen my spiritual consciousness through meditation and what not and I, at times, thought I was going completely insane. This guy seems like he wants to view life through a deeper lens but inevitably lost his mind and fell into the abyss. I feel so bad for him and he's kind of an example of how the search for religious and spiritual clarity can fuck a person up if they have dormant mental illness.

I actually related to one of the earliest comments like the one about experiencing suffering like I’ve had thoughts like that while meditating and smoking. That’s definitely a huge part of what happened to this guy, sometimes people go down rabbit holes
I feel bad for him, harming himself for “God”. Not sure why he was doing that, although I don’t believe in God, I know he wouldn’t want someone to harm themself. It’s so sad seeing this man harming himself and eventually, losing everything. Let’s hope he didn’t pass away, because he probably was a true and honest human.

I really do hope this guy has gotten help and is okay, but the odds are incredibly low unfortunately.

Before he talked about OCD, I already knew he probably was diagnosed. This definitely sounds like OCD. I am diagnosed and have urges to hurt myself, even when I don’t want to. I’ve never hurt myself like this, but him saying he’s doing this to stop war proves my point. OCD can be debilitating and very scary. I hope he gets true help.

this reminds me of my uncle he has schizophrenia, and has a God complex thinking he can help everyone in need. I could see him doing something this bizarre, and this truly made me sad seeing a family member who could possibly be in this situation. i’m just thankful he has family that can help him

The way I felt when watching this was… like the pit of my stomach churning inside-out. Perhaps it’s just me empathising with the user, or me having an anxiety response, or whatever. But I definitely had a strange physical reaction in my stomach that I don’t typically experience when watching videos explaining cases like this. I hope this person is living a safe life now, or at the very least, was able to die peacefully

The human psyche is complex. You most likely had different emotional responses to this story. In my case, it was bewilderment, shock, sadness, puting my self in his shoes and imagining if I had the same delusions made me both sadder, and really angry. It's very possible for anyone to suddenly become psychotic. All in all, I, like you, hope he didn't kill himself, nor kept at his self harming rituals, and that he found a way to help himself.

Deliberate self harm in schizophrenic / delusional disorders of the genitals (and other mental illnesses in general) is more common (more common but still quite rare) than you might first think and tends to be linked to childhood abuse or adverse experiences around sex or sexuality growing up. Maybe usually not to this extreme, though in my time I've heard of more than the one person damaging or trying to damage their genitals in similar ways. Have also known a patient that poked their eyeball out with a sharpened pencil and was admitted to hospital as they'd tried to do the same with their good eye from religious persecutory delusions in a similar way to this person.
The sad thing is the Reddit OP seemed functional or even well at certain points in his life to be looking after two different animals at once and aludes to treatments perhaps working prior and comes across quite lucid at points.
Dude has definitely been failed by our decades-behind (compared to physical care) mental health systems.
i have ocd and suffer from a lot of intrusive thoughts, many of them so creepy and terrible (and when i was a child, a lot of them were religious themed, religion can be sometimes overwhelming to someone who has intrusive thoughts, all the "you cant do this, you cant to that, you will be punished" it crosses our personal boundaries with those symptoms), it's sad to see how far an intrusive thought can go, heartbreaking to see how our mental illnesses can be so tragic, but at the same time we have to learn that it doesnt define us, and that we are so much more than these symptoms, hope he is ok. and to everyone who suffers a lot from intrusive thoughts, seek therapy, treatment and be brave, it's hard but everyday is a new lesson and a new opportunity to learn, we are so much more than our mental illnesses, and if there's a god, he is not more important than our self growth.
USNA is the United States Naval Academy. It's a Federal Service Academy, very difficult to get into, and you need a letter of recommendation from a member of Congress to even be considered for enrollment. If they actually attended as claimed, there's a very short list of people who it could be. Someone could use this info to track him down if they want, don't know how restricted requesting this info could be.
I'm a spiritual person myself and for a long time I thought that living a happy life requires a great amount of sacrifice(which is partly true but if you take "inspired" effort, things you do will not feel like sacrifice). And I've found that giving up some things in life can open doors for other good things. I've tried to starving myself, celibacy, and even meditating with the intention of controlling and halting all bodily function. But I wouldn't go as far as mutilating/"sacrificing" my body as this is THE one vessel we have to experience this life as a human. And honestly I think that someone who takes measures like this is misguided. Killing yourself or harming yourself will not make you find god.
At a point of time I thought that maybe if I felt every human's tragedy/adversity, then I would be able to empathize with all life and appreciate everything that life has to offer. But there is nothing to appreciate if you are not here to experience it. So dying or sacrificing yourself is not the answer. I've realized that finding god is in noticing god and realizing that god/the universe is all around you and in you. You do not need to cause pain to yourself to appreciate what is already here. You just need to notice/be aware.
This dude must have been really misguided and he seemed to reject psychiatric help. A mentor or spiritual guru may have been able to help him.

That truly broke me though. I think I know the website the other user was talking about. There is this recent cannibal case where this random guy in Germany I think really wanted to kill and eat a body, and so he made a website and had many followers. One day he asked for volunteers that wanted to be sacrificed and eaten. There were two volunteers. The first volunteers got this guys address and entered the house, but this guy asked the person again if he wanted to be killed, and the person changed his mind, so the cannibal guy just let him go. The other volunteer went to the house and accepted the invite for the guy to sacrifice him and then eat his remains. Police found out about this by other people who stumbled across the website he made, and reported it. When police got to this guys house, they found carefully chopped up body parts in bags in the freezer, they also found human fat and flesh residue on the stove and pans. It was a mess. Anyways. I got carried away, but it could possibly be the website that you mentioned in the vid 🗿
