Hello, thank you for this video, I have one question help me understand the difference between hyerprime APO and microprime APO lenses, my camera is bmpcc6k pro.
Hey great question. The SLR Magic APO HyperPrime-CINE are the larger cine-style versions. More designed for larger setups and bigger teams. - www.slrmagic.com/apo-hyperprime-cine The SLR Magic APO MicroPrimes are the smaller versions I am reviewing. They have the same performance as the Hyper just in a smaller housing and more travel, single shooter friendly. - www.slrmagic.com/apomicroprime. Hope this helps
HI, but what you think about DZOFILM Vespid Primes ? is that better than Magic APO MicroPrime ? I saw a lot of good reviews about DZOFILM Vespid Primes
Great review, thank you! I love SLR Magic MFT ciné lenses for their character and am keen to try these MicroPrimes on an F6 - man, that's a dope Z-Cam rig you got there 🔥!! How do you find the 150 degree focus throw on these compared to a longer throw when tracking moving subjects?
Glad it was helpful! I found the focus throw to be more than enough for me in all ways. If it was longer I would be forced to use a motorized focusing system which is not my favorite thing to use. So this is a great middle ground.
@@TristanBarrocks This is besides the image quality the main reason why I pushed the buy button on these lenses; a focus throw not that short as at most photo lenses and not too long for manual focussing. Thanks for the great and funny review!
@@TristanBarrocks thanks very much, that's good to know. I hate short focus throws, but too long isn't great either when solo. That's what kept me from getting the Meike primes with their 330 degree throw. Looks like these could be that sweet spot 👍
Hey totally hear you, I’m just not that guy. I don’t even own a chart lol. I like sharing real world experiences with the community. Thanks for watching.
I'm a newbie. I have an 18-135, 70-300, and a 50 1.8 for my Canon 90d and 70d. I shoot the kids playing sports but want to make rap videos. Cine lens the way to go?
Yes and no. If you plan on using dark contrast serious, get these, if you plan on shooting in broad daylight, use what you got. Learn to manipulate the camera before you invest in precision equipment like these lenses unless you wish to just go head first and focus on the technology.
So what do you think about these lenses? Have you used them before? Are you considering other brands. What Questions did I not answer?
Wait you said 35mm. I thought there was only a 32mm? I’m confused

hey I just purchased sir magic microprobe 18mm t2.8 is the glass in the apo collection better?
Yes from what I understand it is because it reduces fringing and colour separation.

Would love to see a comparison video
I’ve heard of those but have not used them. They seem pretty dope although they look a lot more lathers than these lenses.
That would be great. I’ll see what we can do.

These are rather good. I love the look and feel they have with the Zcam or Pocket 6K
Would have been nice to see you shoot a chart and pull focus. I'd like to see how much they breathe. Other than that the images themselves look great.

What camera are you using in these example clips?
This a weird question that’s kind of irrelevant but…..what’s the name of that blue paint on your wall in the back. I love the look LOL.
How do you deal with the focus breathing?
Does anyone know if SLR magic provide zoom lenses as well??
no they dont

I wanna see these speedboosted!
I use them Speedboosted on my Red Komodo 6K and they are a match made in heaven.
apo lenses don't merely have difft coatings..
