I thought they were supposed to come with solid legs? And I had a feeling there would be issues when I couldn't get the original raptors to stand without issues
I think Wilson has finally been dethroned as the best, definitive Tyrannosaurus figure available. Seriously, the sculpt here is phenomenal and it’s no coincidence because the person responsible for the 3D model is Jake Baardse. He’s the person who’s made all of the dinosaur models for Saurian and The Isle, he’s a top of the line paleoartist.
OML, this has got to be the best looking Tyrannosaurus figures I’ve ever seen period, even though that they’re not completely painted but they look very gorgeous and beautiful in my opinion and I can’t wait to get them for my amazing collection.
The reviews for the fully painted versions of these are going to be a treat, some really amazing figures. I think this and the upcoming REBOR Rex are going to be the best T. Rex figures ever made.
True that, in a time when toys are in a bad place in terms of sales comes a high quality highly articulated dinosaur collector toy line that has been a major success I can safely say nobody saw that coming.
In the Mattel JW Toys or any JW/JP Toys, the HC Rex is OFC the best toy in the world if you want a JP Movie accurate rex. Other than that, it is the best Rex figure ever.

i prefer the pnso version just a bit more 1. PNSO actually put goose bumps on the neck to suggest tiny feathers/fibers ulike BOTM where the neck is a bit weird 2. I like PNSO t rex colour scheme more ngl it seems more realistic for a 10 ton apex predator
@@ashprice1123 The neck isn't weird. It's a scaled representation with the appropriate folds and wrinkles you'd see in lizards and other similarly scaled reptiles.
It looks good for the most part. That neck is disappointing, and the torso seems like it has a weak hold on the 1:18. But damn man, the fact that not stand is coming to support this things weight and provide for better poses still baffles me. Its the most nervous i've ever been about a BotM purchase. I hope he pushes a little harder to ensure the consistency of these guys on the final run.

Preordered the whole series as well except for the 1/6 Dilong, hopefully he comes out with a 1/18 version! I did get the 1/35 Rex as he will make a great addition to my office desk 😁😁

In it, Spielberg held a fully articulated T. rex painted like the Winston Studios full size version. I just wanted it so bad. Well now my dream has come true! Two things I agree on: the dorsal of the neck should have been molded posteriorly to avert the "hoody" and articulation could be better. However, these are *so* anatomically accurate that these features can be easily dismissed. Excellent review! Like the 1993 Ford Explorer for scale and show. Thank you for sharing!
That 1:35 scale rex has really caught my eye. Wonderful looking sculpt and the perfect size for my collection (now that I've starting collecting accurate dinosaur figures over the Mattel garbage). Will purchase it if I have the money. Edit: 65 bucks is kinda a lot. Will have to think about it.

Wonderful work, as always. Edit: Since i am not that much into Action / Articulated Figures, i am on the fence of getting Animals from the Line, but i guess i can't skip Yutyrannus (Feathers hide the Joints better) :D Man, what a chonker the 1:18 rex is. Really really absolutely impressive Work overall. David and his team outdid themselves. The Headsculpts are extremely impressive. Was ist changed with the Neck/ "hood"? The Photos never had it. Or is it just the angle of the head itself and it would be more flush when the head is pointed more down? It is a Nitpick, of course, but ... also a big bummer.

So excited for my tyrants. I backed the WWD 1/35 Rex and the Yutyrannus from wave 1. I plan to get the Lythronax from wave 2 and the Gorgo and Alberto from wave 3.
I'm happy to see the 1/35 Rex is a fine figure, but it's a bit of a bummer to see my reservations about the 1/18 Rex come to fruition. With a figure that huge and heavy, the size and weight are going to work against it, and I feel the current engineering isn't quite up to handling the stresses. Here's hoping improvements can be made for future large theropod figures, and that these issues won't hamper the smaller Tyrannosaurs as much.

Edel is on crack for what they charge. Was tempted by them at first. But after seeing the price and reviews yeah I’m good. If David’s 1:18 rex even bumped an edel figure it would shatter 😂. BoTM Rex is a bonafide weapon!!
Mattel is a Toy company and frankly a figure this small with so much detail is quite expensive. Hell the 1:35 Rex is over $65. Mattel simply isn't in the same market here. Which is fair all things considered.
Is it worth collecting even if you don't plan on painting them (let alone have the talent to do so)? Like, I kind of want to get them just for the sake of display and handling, but I already have the colored 1/18 T. rex and plan on getting the 1/35 counterpart.
i have both painted versions on preorder. i missed out on the dino riders & wwd ones. there's so many rex homages he could do with this line and i wish i could paint worth a dam so i could get the unpainted versions.

9:19 Jurassic Park Rex is quite accurate to the info at the time of creating this movie. But it's not accurate for now because info these day have been changed. You probably understand this reason.
If I were to get both I would paint them after the kenner red rex and brown young tyrannosaurus rex. The 1:35 scale could be used as an adolescent and I can't wait for the juvenile rexes to be released.
I thought the same thing. I'm not even sure it's possible to use both base pegs with both of the non-articulated legs. Definitely an odd design decision.

I put less emphasis on historical accuracy and more on what looks cool to me. I hope you can snag one of these though! It's a very interesting piece. 👍

Thanks for the fantastic review! It's weird but having watched this, I've decided to pass on these... Getting the Hammond Collection rexy instead and going to focus on the other, smaller Tyrannosaurs from beasts of the Mesozoic.
I have the hammond rex but it's not nearly as good as this. The hammond rex is severely lacking in detail and the legs and feet are awful. Then you might get one with quality control issues. While the hammond rex is good this thing is better. Planning on getting this to display with the hammond rex.
It's a shame that the articulated legs can't really support this guy in the long term. Given the deal with the hoodie neck sculpt and the limited articulation as well, it feels like this guy is meant to be posed rather than played with. Makes me wonder why they bothered with such limited and tight joints.

The detail on the 1:35 scale Rex is so clean and sharp. Mattel is going cheap on us if this level of sharp detail is achievable on smaller figures
