So beautiful!!!! Kathy Rees has some beautiful counted thread. I use wooden stretcher frames to work on these. Use tacks to put canvas on wood. They come in sets of two and you put them together. I like the small version of the bars best.

Erica's canvas work had me the closest I've ever been to saying I shouldn't even stitch anymore because look at what I should be doing on my projects! The roses and the changes on the motifs on Emerald City are fine art, in my view. 😱

Oh my goodness the Alice pieces are fabulous! How fun to stitch them together! And the Treasure Island SAL is also amazing! You are so lucky to be life long stitchy friends!
Very nice video! Great when friends can get together to stitch. You mentioned starting a Chatelaine, just in case you haven’t heard this tidbit, make sure you always buy your Chatelaine charts from the Chatelaine site, and not from a secondary shop. I found out the hard way most of the secondary shops don’t send all the paper for that chart. I bought a Chatelaine from a cross stitch shop and received 22 pages of the chart for $40 plus shipping. I was not understanding all the pattern they sent and heard from someone it was missing a bunch of pages, so I bought the same chart from the Chatelaine web site for $ 40 and received 41 pages including color pages and PDF of the chart. I learned my lesson. Good luck. I’m still kitting it up a dollar at a time through the European site in the U S.

Enjoyed this one. I wanted to comment on your friends piece that had yellowed. The same thing happened to me. I have a 30+ year piece that I wanted to fully finish that was discolored. I am not endorsing this product, but my personal experience I ordered a product called Retro Clean from Amazon. I soaked my piece and came out like new.

Samantha - so nice to meet your friend Arica and I like your freckles. Loved all your projects - both of you and Arica's daughter Ava too. What a lovely young lady and her stitching is beautiful. Keep it up Ava. Arica - you should frame your first ever piece - it looks finished so go with that. Also, try putting your canvas on stretcher bars with tacks for that purpose - then you can use a frame and do two-handed stitching. Your dominant hand on top and the other under and it goes super fast. If you have good light you can see through the canvas and it is easy stitching. This way, you can also use a laying tool to get your stitches flat and for your two threads to lie side by side. That is a bit tricky to do "in hand", but maybe one that is on your thumb or finger would work. A laying tool is great when you use a scroll frame or stretcher bars.

It took forever for me to get through this episode as I found myself stopping to look up all the things you talked about, lol. You two are definitely enabling my already out of hand cross stitch habit. I was wondering if you could recommend any Canadian cross stitch designers? I am taking a cruise in October from Boston up through PEI, Newfoundland and into Quebec City and thought a stitch to commemorate my trip might be fun to start! Nothing too elaborate, I am currently into stitching smaller pieces. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Love, love, love your flosstubes!

Samantha, It was so lovely to meet your friend Arica. I think you are both very blessed to have been able to stay close over the years despite distance between you. I loved hearing about your experience with the Tiger Lily folders. I have made two large and one mini. I will confess to you that I also sewed the pocket closed. My brain just couldn't wrap itself around the instructions for sewing it. Fortunately, I discovered it right away because I tried to stick my hand in it. @@Fibersandfloss I like that idea. My oldest will sit with me typically while I stitch or knit in the evenings and she either reads or plays on her switch. I will take to a shop and have her pick out a little kit. Thank you for your response and all your stitching was beautiful.

Am working on Summer Quaker, was going to start in August but had to wait on fabric so I started in September! Am really enjoying it,hard to put down! Loved it as always. And I cross stitched with my pink neck light while I watched the two of you. My daughter bought one for me about 4 years or so ago. LOVE it! I have even used it in the dark to walk my dogs. I have two 75 lb. dogs, and I can't hold a flashlight with them both so this works great. LOL!
