I prioritize not needing to sharpen it quite as often, accessibility, and ease of opening and closing. Just found your channel, subbed, looking forward to how this channel grows.
Nice video man. I'm some what of a knife enthusiast, wicked large fixed to small (legal to carry) EDC. I do own some really cheap throw away models (everyone should IMO), but I like to stay in the $50 - $300 range, I most often buy a knife on the spur of the moment. Anyway, (more on topic), I have one knife in particular w/ a deep carry clip (CRKT BUKU Burnley Design folder) that for some reason or another (perhaps by design); you really have to make sure your thumb is placed at the very top of the over sized hole in the blade for a smooth deployment. So yes, practice, practice, practice, know your knife. Thanx again.
Spur of the moment is the most dangerous LOL. Every blade has its quirks. Even with the Para 3, if you don't get the placement angle right, you won't have a full and smooth deployment, so it's cool to hear you put in the hours practicing on your specific blade. Thanks for checking out the vid and glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Hi. I just found the channel. I have the RED Folder Bastinelli. Is this ok for an EDC and is it ok to carry without fob? Thank you. Enjoyed video a lot.
That RED folder looks great for an EDC knife, although ultimately it boils down to your needs. Does it help you with your daily routine? Does it comply with knife laws in your area? And would a knife fob help you wield the knife better (i.e. provide you with a little extra grip or help you get it out of your pocket more easily, etc.). All things to consider during blade selection and if it matches all criteria, you're set! Hope that helps man 🙌
Hey Man sweet Spyderco. For the clip is the edge softer/rounder than the stock clip? I was not happy with the stock clip it scratched my steering wheel when getting into my car. It also scratched my bucket seat when I switched sides. So I was going to see if this clip has a rounded edge. I am only buying blades with wire clips now. I got some new ones recently (some in the mail). Thank you!
The Lynchco clip does have rounded edges and I haven't had any issues with it scratching stuff, but from how you're describing it, I'd probably change how you stow your blade when in your car. The leather on your seats and steering wheel will give way to any kind of hard metal clip given enough force (i.e. when you're bumping into it or sitting down on it over time) so maybe just fully slip it into your pocket when driving and clip it back when you exit your vehicle? Hope that helps 👍
@@RonKwok The way I carry it is normal pocket carry on my right pocket. It doesn't always touch the steering wheel but when it does catch, it scratches. It's the bridge rectangle part of the clip. I then switched to my left pocket. The bottom round part of the standard clip digs into the edge of the bucket seat when I get it to sit down. My pm2 and manix 2 s110v have the normal clips. I was planning on selling both. My Manix2 got sharpend in Golden and I want to keep it, but only if I can switch the clip that won't scratch. Thanks for letting me know about the rounded edge. I might keep the manix 2 and get a lynch clip. That is a good idea. I tried tucking it in my pocket but I have my phone on my right and my wallet on my left. And they stack funny. I got Lionsteel Kur and TRE, and a Dragonfly salt. I might get a pm3 lightweight.
I just realized it because I'm short. ( 5'5) so I sit close to the wheel. My dad gave me the PM2 I got him, because he got a leather cover for his dodge and the clip cut it open. He is on the shorter side too.
Reflective paracord is good for lanyards when locating tools with a flashlight. Add a lanyard bead, a titanium one off Amazon would look great on that lanyard. #Jigproshop has a large assortment of beads.
Hey, just learned the snake knot. It is a very useful knot. I do not like a carry clip. I am sorry. But I have a solution to that. I made a small, simple pouch in leather. Approximately 3.15 inches deep and 2.4 inches wide. That is 8 cm by 6 cm (I watched and comment from Europe) My pocket knife is 3.75 inches when closed. It is the US military GI utility pocket knife (reproduction) The choice is influanced by the very strickt weapon laws in Europe. It is legal here in most places I come. It have more features than just the blade, it is compact and it is cheap to buy, at least in my place. "My" little pouch can be made from cardboard and ducktape as well. No such thing as EDC in Queensland, Australia as it is illegal unless it's for your job, eg. a fisherman, cook, and so on. Only Pen knives and Swiss Army knives are allowed as utility knives.

I've been EDC a Kershaw Clash for the last 10 years, unable to replace it with an equally excellent knife in my opinion. The Clash is the perfect size, perfectly ergonomic, perfect grip pattern on the scales, perfect blade shape, perfect opening mechanism, PERFECTLY PERFECT broad pocket clip you can't find on any other knife I've ever seen!!! I can't even express how excellent the pocket clip is on this knife. The ease of draw, the reach in pocket... everything about it is perfect except the steel quality. Don't need any fob or lanyard to get snagged and lose my knife for me either.

About to use a piece of parador or chain that allows it to be attached to my person at all times. I have a bench made that was a gift I’m afraid to even leave the house with. This convo has giving me some ideas tho thanks again man def subbed now
I appreciate the support man, and yea that's good! I'm sure you'll turn it around eventually with intentional practice 🙌🏼 cheers and Live with Purpose 👏🏼👏🏼

Making it easier to remove from the pocket is the main reason for me.
Awesome, I'm glad your knife carry just got a bit more efficient 🙌
👍 For the knotlesson
dude all these years I never knew that was called a Fob. I thought they were all lanyards:)
Haha I did the same thing for a long time. Subtle differences!
Good video, one thing i dont get, is why does it matter if anyone knows i have a pocket knife?? I dont care if anyone else has one in public, i dont get the big deal with concealing a knife?? I conceal my firearm, but the knife?? Theyre tools, not weapons, we all know this, maybe jm just complaining to complain
Geez, my Buck doesn't have a fob hole, oh well, I don't use it for everyday use, it's just for slicing if needed
I may go back to carrying two, I want a fob
P e a c e
Could I send my knife to you to get customized? I’ll pay
Thanks for the interest but I'm currently not taking any commissions right now. I appreciate it man 🙌
No such thing as EDC in Queensland, Australia as it is illegal unless it's for your job, eg. a fisherman, cook, and so on. Only Pen knives and Swiss Army knives are allowed as utility knives.
Ah, good to know, thanks for sharing! I'll bet you can still curate a fine set of daily essentials around a swiss army knife though 🙌🏼
I modified my baseball bat, but the umpire didn't like that too much. Something something cork is bad for baseball bats. IDk man.
This guy, trying to sell you on his newest fascination with braids, is gonna convince you that your blade needs one, to be more efficient.
I have to wonder if he actually believes it, or if he effectively trolled people.
Pleease no music
Spyderco good for smashing spiders, not real field work. Cardboard boxes office guys unite.Great Steel, too thin and danty.
Spiders and cardboard boxes are a menace and need to be stopped
Im worried i've fallen for a scam....
Change clip for deep carry but add a silly fob that sticks out and signals the knife’s existence. Silly video
never trust a man that can't grow a beard
Yours is an excuse of a beard
@@spawntaneous1903 that’s a five o’clock shadow, bud. On the opposite spectrum of you, I grow a beard way to quickly and easily. That’s me attempting to be clean shaven.
I’m sorry you lack the ability. On the bright side though, you can look at my ease as a hassle or curse.
Never trust a man who post’s a picture of “five o’clock shadow” then brags about his beard growing abilities...
If they would do a re-release of the Clash with a superior American steel, I would never need another pocket knife in my life! Don't need any fob or lanyard to get snagged and lose my knife for me either.
Enjoy your Clash my dude 🔥
ZT Clash!?!
