THANK YOU! My new dehumidifier was running and it'd drop instantly from 65% to 40%, shut off and within a few seconds be back up at over 50 quickly on it's was to 60+. This has class action written all over it. They're selling a known flawed design hoping that they break and can sell more units.
have the same exact one you have. Noticed also using auto comfort mode with the number going up quickly. Neat trick you discovered and makes sense too.
I just bought a Pelonis 50pt dehumidifier for my basement 3 days ago and its been essentially running nonstop ever since, even though I set it to 50% humidity. I'm amazed that it had this problem instantly right out of the box.... and that Menards could sell thousands of these with such a bad design. Why put the humidistat there, if it clearly malfunctions?
I was hoping the solution would involve moving the humidistat. I'm not going to buy fans to run next to all my dehumidifiers. Great solution if you just have one though!
Any chance you know how to take the back off of this unit? I have one size larger than this, and the compressor quit. I figured I'd check the capacitor, but despite removing all the screws, I can't get the back off. Thanks a million!
I’m thinking if there was a way to keep the dehumidifier fan on continuous.. that way it would keep air drawing over the evap and the sensor. I wonder if some dehumidifiers have that option?🤔
Where did you get that fan? I’m looking to get one I can hang up. I have the same dehumidifier and it literally never shuts off. It freezes up and the humidity level on the digital display on the dehumidifier never matches my separate humidifier sensor I have near the dehumidifier. I’m wondering if a fan will help.
That's rather odd. Do you have another humidity sensor in the room? If so, what does it read? If they both read the same thing, then it's likely the room is already pretty dry. Otherwise, it's probably a fault on the sensor inside the dehumidifier.

Fixed the fast cycling of my dehumidifier. Thanks.

I’ve got the same issue! Cycling back on after 15 seconds.

do you think the proximity to a water source is an issue? I do think a fan is necessary to move air in the room your trying to keep dry.
Are you referring to the pet fountain nearby? It shouldn't have an effect on the unit.
I have the opposite problem mine almost always says 30% and wont run unless i put it in continuous mode, any tips?

move the sensor...
have you done this?
@@Scootertrash043 Yup, after cleaning mine. Put it in the front upper right hand. Stupid easy fix.
@@rocknewtonfilsterwilly7364 how did you manage to do that? Mine appears to be encased in the plastic housing
