Gelya has made it to every single event final and is 1st in AA qualifications. The next step in pulling off a 'Mustafina' is winning AA and every single medal. She already has won the Team gold at the Olympics this year, if she medals in all event finals this worlds, she'll be the 3rd Russian to accomplish that. Bravo Gelya.
Aliya had qualified for every single event final in 2010 and won at least a silver in all finals but beam. Gelya also qualified everywhere this time. Aliya then won the beam gold in her next championship, so she still fits in that top tier. Even if Gelya fails in one event, she can do it next year or the year after, because she is so good and hard working.
I don’t understand how this seems like jealousy? Aliya and Angelina are among my favorites of each of the last two quads, I was just pointing out that there is no precedent of a post-Soviet Russian getting all medals available at a single world championship. Which will make it very significant if Angelina achieves it, but doesn’t diminish what Aliya did in her career.
It’s easy to overhype the top contenders at an early quad worlds, but I really hope that we get to see head to head competitions of Melnikova, Urazova, Listunova and Andrade during the entirety of this quad. These four are extremely well balanced and I hope that Urazova and Listunova in particular are successfully able to overcome any difficulties related to growth supports or injury.
still underscored, she performed a 'not better than this one' beam routine at friendship and solidarity 2020 and got a 14.100, i dont understand how she barely reached the 14's with this almost perfect beam routine.
@@kimochiyokatta1710 Unfortunately, judging panels cannot be totally consistent from event to event, especially if they're a year or more apart. This was the best routine of hers I've ever seen.
Vlada does it well and few others, but the great news is that we won’t see a triple followed by a double or anything like that on floor and beam because only one would be credited. Angelina doesn’t need it, she has a multitude of other skills and on beam it’s literally been her downfall. Most of the time it’s good though.
Oh she is just so exquisite! I just hope I don't ruin her chances by rooting for her! Every time I fall in love with a Russian Gymnast, their career implodes!

Aliya has never won 6 medals at a single worlds and I don’t think any Russian has accomplished this in the post-Soviet era.

I agree! Squatting and spinning is ugly!
her time to shine, hoping she pulls through and takes gold in the AA final🤍
I legit don't know how she got those first two tumbling passes around. They looked so low, but she landed them well.
Now that Andrade is out of AA, I wish Melnikova get the gold
Angelina Melnikova is doing outstanding qualifications 2021 World Championships.
I really thought she was done after that instagram post after the olympics saying how hard it's been these past 5 years for her.
She's just emulating Chuso

Her inbars are stunning. I could watch her bars all day just for those beautiful inbars!
how did these bars score a tenth higher than vlada’s????
melnikova’s difficulty value was higher. urazova missed a lot of her handstands, and she caught her jager quite close as well
