I have Ryobi the 1/2 impact it works great. You can also go to garage sale and pick up the older (blue) tools for cheap, they work with the batteries.

and this is a great time of year to get a few extra batteries, and a free tool. I think I wore the brushes out of my Ryobi angle grinder, so I just ordered one today, will be delivered tomorrow

When I worked at a health care facility, I ordered a drill kit. It was the most worthless POS I ever had. I replaced it with a Porter Cable drill and it worked like a champ.

I have enough Ryobi batteries to wait until they start giving the two 4ah batteries deal again. 😅

Super deal on a pair of 6 amp-hr 18 volt batteries. Unfortunately, all 18 volt tools and kits come with worthless charger that they're apparently trying to clear out of inventory.

the chargers have been working good for me, and I have about 10 extra if I ever need one

I've seen another commenter on the worthless battery chargers. I have to ask what does that refer to? I have 4 chargers that I use, I'm sure I have a few more 'somewhere' and never have any issue with them. Are you looking for a faster charger? Or is their an actual issue?

@DavidStrchld Don't get me wrong as I like the Ryobi ONE+ system and have many of the 40 volt tools, including the lawn mower. My gripe is the multiple chargers (PCG002, 004, 008) with the 002 the defacto standard for all the kits right up to the $750 8 tool. $15 more for the 004 if you bought the 004 stand alone. The other thing is that, among the charger specs, Ryobi does not compare apples to apples. Luckily, when I bought the lawn mower, I paid the upgrade cost for two 6 amp-hr batteries with the rapid charger. My brother...not so lucky (takes 8 hours to charge his single 6 amp-hr with the wall wort charger supplied).

@@DavidStrchld That is a good question, I have a bunch of the single battery charger and never had a problem with them, I did have and use the older flat charger that held 6 batteries and loved it, and it died on me after many years of use, now I just use the single battery charger and have it hooked up to my solar, free power

Why the F did I decide to go with Dewalt! I'm only four tools and two of the little 20v batteries into Dewalt though....maybe it's not too late to switch. I just paid $139 for a 20v max cutoff too...just bare tool. I thought ryobi was one of the fancy types like Milwaukee. I never go into the actual stores. I've been in home depot like once or twice in the last 20 years.

Ryobi does this Ryobi Days sale every year around this time. and they did it just before Christmas last year. I have bought some of the inverters, so when storms come through and the power goes out, I can use the batteries to power a few small items around the house or charge the cell phone from the battery power.

25 years ago I wanted to go with Dewalt, but for the price of the drill I wanted I could buy a set of Ryobi tools. Though I initially had buyer's remorse, that disappeared as soon as I started using them I still have 3 of those original tools and still use them (The drill bit the dust after many years of hard work, and most likely just needed new brushes). Over the years their commitment to their battery platform and such sales allowed me to build out their platform to about 20 tools. I was always impressed by their performance and longevity (especially due to their unchanging battery platform - which means fresh batteries for old tools - which is a real advantage for a homeowner) . Now if you are in the trade buy red or yellow or whatever you need, but for a homeowner DIY'er, I really think Ryobi is the way to go. I will admit that red and yellow do preform better, but really the difference in practice for a homeowner is marginal at best. BTW the 20V and 18V platforms are the same, it's just a marketing term.
